Went end of October 2017, perfect weather.
I stand corrected. Gracias

Oh mylanta. If we need the government to step in because of poor KSMLs, we've got problems. Please leave them out of it, they have enough to do otherwise.

I really support @milechazzer's idea for a site, but I am nervous about Chillul Hashem issues.

Another concern may be that marginally religious Jewish travelers will opt for the non-kosher meals as a result. Some have the image that the kosher option is healthier; and/or will be more likely to choose kosher if they think it may be equivalent or better in taste or quality.

Best if the website publicity could somehow be limited to those who are firmly committed to kosher meals no matter what. And then to the airlines and their kosher food suppliers.

I only have 150 pages :P
What hotel to stay at, activities, ground transportation, Minyanim are a few of the items that are hard to discuss / find here because most of it is food.
Perhaps someone should divide this thread, at least going forward, into separate threads for each or some of those categories. Likewise, and even more so, for the Israel thread.

No worries. I hope to be proven wrong and will happily shlep back the frozen meals if Dini's is open and delicious! Report to follow, B'N.
Looking forward iy"H  :)

It's actually only 5 of us (3 kids) and I did only pay for one room at Marina Bay sands.  They are super strict about only allowing 4 people per room (and give you a card for each person to enter the pool and viewing area) plus I refuse to be squashed in one room with my family (others are makpid about flying only in F and J and this is one of my things I need for an enjoyable vacation) so I think I came up with a creative solution that y'all DDFers will like and will explain in that section of the TR!  :P

I'm sure I am not the only one waiting in suspense to learn about that creative solution in the next episode....

Petition doesn't seem to be getting much traction yet. But the good news is I think the website is in the works.

I welcome your ideas and suggestions for website content and features....

Post flight reviews of kosher meals should include the specific Airline, flight date and number, seating class, meal (b,l,d), name of the kosher food supplier, and each of the specific items on the tray, each separately rated, so that Airlines and food suppliers can look to see where specific improvements can be made.

How much before an International flight (NY JFK to MAD) may one check in luggage?

Delta Airlines Flight leaves JFK at 7:30 pm and arrives 7 hours 45 minutes later, 9:15 am Madrid Time. Thinking of checking in maximum early and then going out (or back home 15-20 minutes away) for dinner. We have Priority Pass for Wingtips Lounge in Terminal 4, but I read that they restrict access after 5 pm, and they do not serve a kosher meal.  We also have KSML dinner available on board but will prefer to sleep through the flight if possible. I will have to pay to park while checking in, but I'm ok with that.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Any kosher food available in Wingtips Lounge at JFK?

Not the best season for touring Spain, but should work well as stop over on a Chanukah trip to Israel.

I believe non glatt means they don't check the lung if it's glatt or not... Not sure though
According to Rabbi Moshe Heinemann of Star-K, referenced earlier in this thread:

"Glatt kosher means that any adhesions found were exceptionally thin (like a sewing thread) and the adhesion peeled off easily, leaving no hole in the lung wall, and the adhesionless lung passed the air/water test.  Kosher means that the lung had adhesions which were thicker or wider in nature; however, upon removal they did not leave any hole in the lung wall and the lung passed the air/water test. Generally speaking, it was the custom of Ashkenazic Jews of European descent to eat both Beis Yosef Glatt and non-Glatt meats, and to accept both as kosher.  [Please note that Beis Yosef Glatt meat that is certified only by Sephardic hechsherim may rely on leniencies that are not acceptable to Ashkenazim.]"

Being a student usually gets you a postponement until the summer break. Being the primary caregiver of an infant or pre-school child often works as well for an indefinite postponement.

At the kosel there's a virtual tour that's pretty good. Not long, but interesting.
Thanks Mutty. Where specifically at the Kosel is that?
