I am also thinking that staying in Milan vs by Lake Como also has advantage of minyan for davening. What is the closest Shul to the Marriot, and morning Shachris time(s)?

I was thinking of taking the Bernina Express, scenic route train, from Zurich to Chur then on to Tirano, Italy, and then train down to Milan Italy. Long day, but supposedly worthwhile. Any experience or thoughts on this?    Is kosher food ever served on Swiss trains?

Any questions let me know, I will try to help.

Thanks for that helpful information. I have 2 questions, for you or anyone or may know:

1. Trying to decide whether (a) to stay in Varenna on Lake Como for 2 or 3 nights and travel in each evening to Milan for dinner by train (looks like 1 hour, 3 minutes via train to Milan Central Station, then a 10 minute cab ride to restaurants); or (b) vice-versa, stay at the Marriott Milan and travel in via train for day trips to Lake Como. I wish they had an UberEats/Seamlees type delivery but apparently they will not go that far, as much as I can ascertain. If you are still there, can you make inquiry on this conundrum. Any thoughts on this from anyone?

2.  Do you know how it is to stay at the Marriott for Shabbos and eat with Chabad? I heard that they have a Chabad minyan at the Marriott?

I stayed in the Sheraton in the city of Como
I see on line that itís 37 minutes by train from Como to  Milan. I wonder if it makes sense to travel in for dinners?

Which is best place to stay for Shabbos, Cannes, Nice or Monaco?

Iím flying into FCO on 7/3, heading to Venice over the weekend until Sunday and flying back from Paris on Thursday 7/12. My question is which of these scenarios would be recommended over the other? Sunday-Monday in Milan then Monday -Thursday in Paris. Or Sunday-Tuesday in Nice and then Tuesday-Thursday in Paris?
Milan if you want shopping, not sure about Sunday. Nice for the scenery and beach.

Also, I read here that they are all kosher Pareve, but cannot find anything online about the calorie or sugar content? Any helpful link or info would be appreciated.

Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Re: Hong Kong Master Thread
« on: May 30, 2018, 05:51:44 AM »
I want to go to Hong Kong for about 5 days in August including one Shabbos. I have a 7 month old baby who will be about 10 months old then. I really, really don't want to rely on using a Goy to get from the hotel to the Shul/meals.

Does anyone know of a hotel that is connected to one of the shuls/restaurants?
It seems like the Chabad in Kowloon is in the same center as a couple of hotels. Do they have access to the Chabad? is there a fence around the place?

I was not in the Chabad, but we went to KZ (Shul, restaurant, excellent Shabbos meals) which is in a shopping mall building literally next door to the Shangrila Hotel. However, to my knowledge there is no internal connection so you have to work outside on the public sidewalk (more than 4 Amos). And Iím not sure if you can carry in the mall itself until you get into KZ via escalator on 2nd floor. Perhaps if you call the KZ Rabbi (a Talmud Chacham and very nice fellow) he may have a solution, or goyta reference.

Awesome!  Can't wait for the next part of the TR!
Patience is a virtue. Iím sure Denverite will get to it due course and not disappoint us.  :)

Am I Halachically prohibited from attending my second cousinís Shabbos Bat Mitzva in a Conservative Shul where she will be be called up for an Aliya and lain the Parsha? I would actually daven else where but only attend to avoid insulting or hurting their feelings. Please cite sources if possible.

They made an official announcement today at the hotel that there was a change in ownership
Why are there no reports in the media?

Not much to do in Milan
Item 1 on the list is particularly interesting.
