Applied and itís pending. Recon said they will call me back shortly with an update. They pulled my credit even though they pulled like 2 weeks ago for the aspire :(.

5th person told me that though his supervisor wonít allow the change he advises I call the hotel directly to cancel and rebook. So I did and it worked pretty easily. I simply told them that Iíll rebook the same nights before you go ahead and cancel to ensure that I am not simply looking to cancel to waive the fee.
For those that will be doing it this way note that the points will not be deposited back into account for possibly 7-10 days.

best is if you can, make a new reservation and cancel the old one, that will be the easiest.
Iíll try that but will have to convince them to waive cancellation fee.
