Credit Cards And Finance / Re: Bank Account Bonus Masterthread

Any good new brokerage account incentives to move new money to a firm ?  TIA..
I think the best current promo is Schwab with a referral. I would be happy to do so.

Has anyone had to send back recently? Curious if they have nixed this due to COVID. I noticed that the language about whether you can keep the item or not is no longer in the decision document.

On my recent submission for $300+ and $60-ish item, the $60 got approved right away, but the $300+ item was pending for a little longer.

Is it normal that $300 coverage has increased scrutiny of some sort?
I have had recent $300ish claims, one took a while and the other took 2 days. I think it's random.

It has not hit $1800

I recently bought an item that was $1200 but the merchant returned $200 due to pricematch so on statement it shows $1200 then a week later it shows $200 credit. If I file an amex return protection request would it be denied for this reason or would it have any affect?
I do not see why that would matter. As long as you had not paid for part of it with another payment method you should be fine (provided the item keeps to the terms).

Does amex return protection work for an ipad that is locked to verizon? Bought a new ipad from B&H photo over two months ago but it is locked to verizon and b&h won't accept return because it is past 30 days
Do not see why it would not be eligible.

I submitted a request a week ago it still says Open. I already uploaded the docs how soon usually before they process a claim
It can take longer or shorter. A week is probably about my average.

Is this benefit still per card? The terms and conditions state that is it $1000 per calendar year per “card member account”. Does that mean it’s per card still?

If I get the card now, will I get the dell credit for June ?
Sure, you should get the card in a couple of days and then have around 2 weeks to spend.

General Discussion / Re: Law School

I have a btl from BMG and am thinking about law school. I have started to self study for the lsat and so  far I am scoring very nicely, and I plan on taking an official course as well. I have a gpa of slightly  under a 4.0. Other then that I am a very much a typical guy who learnt in yeshiva. My question is, is it possible and how likely is it to get a nice scholarship from a T7 school like Columbia and UPenn (NYU if they even accept btl's), assuming I get a high enough score on the lsat.
It is possible, but you likely would have to get in the upper 170s to get a scholarship (not including financial based scholarships). It also depends on what you mean when you say a nice scholarship.

Pretty weak sauce compared to amex.
Yeah, this only benefits people who have a bunch of points they were planning on redeeming at 1.5 cents through their portal. Doesn't provide any extra benefits like Amex.

anyone know if I upgrade my busi green to plat and AF bills in 2 months, will I get the extra $200 credit?
I doubt anyone knows, but you should try and while you're doing that you would also get $400 in dell credits for your troubles.

I have a 5,000 insurance payment coming up in a week.  Which CC should I sign up with?  I already have Chase Reserve.  I applied for an Ink on Friday and was summarily rejected (I heard they are tightening up on Sole Props applying).  Most of my points are Chase.  I have about 20,000 Amex points also and a bunch of AA points, and a handful of Avios.  At this point, no 5/24 problem.
I would say Business Platinum because of the 5k charge and the 6 months to do the spend. Also, the current promotions for the card such as $400 dell credit and wireless credit make it much more appealing.
