If I want to reopen a closed credit card from chase is that a new credit pull?
What about for amex?
I think Chase and Amex generally allow within 30 days, I think no pull required.

Which two cards?
I believe Everyday Preferred and Cash Magnet

Did actually you read what I wrote? The Amazon cards have the benefit as of 4/25/20 based on documentation included with a replacement card. Those cards have no annual fee.
The claim you did last week for the shoes was on the Amazon card?

Is it worth keeping Amex Bonvoy ($95 AF) these days without a retention offer? Any recent DP on retention offers on Amex Bonvoy?
I called and was told no.

oh, that's not good. I bought a number of tickets on a few airlines months ago that will be soon refunded to me bec of flight cancellations. as the money gets refunded to original card, I will be short the SUB amount on a 3-4 cards if they take these refunds into consideration. I cant even spend now to make up the difference as the 3 month (spend window) period is over.
Some banks have extended the 3 month window a further 3 months (Chase and AMEX for sure have, I believe).

I tried making a claim with my Bonvoy Business card and they denied it. They called me and told me it no longer had the benefit. I tried claiming ignorance to see if they’d make an exception but they wouldn’t.

On the plus side, there are still two no annual fee cards that have this benefit. I was unsure whether the Amazon cards had the benefit because, despite being listed on the page with other cards with the benefit, when you click the button to view the terms it shows you the terms for purchase protection, not return protection. However, my wife got a replacement business Prime card in the mail the other day and included in the paperwork was a document dated the day the card was mailed explaining the return protection benefits which I’ve obviously scanned and then put away with other important documents just in case.

Last week I had a claim approved for a pair of shoes for a little under $300 and they did not ask me to send them in.
There are not any no-AF cards that have return protection. There are 2 cards with $95 AFs that have.

Do banks (citi, Barclays) claw back sign-up bonus miles if purchases made to reach minimum spend amount are returned?
I believe so, although I have been diligent to ensure it does not happen to me personally, so I cannot speak from experience.

I've had Amex Gold for many years. Now that return protection isn't available on Gold, I'm going to get the Platinum card (70k bonus points). Question is, is there a way to downgrade the Gold to a free (no AF) card? I see no reason to pay for both gold and plat. Alternatively, I guess I could just upgrade my gold to plat, but there is currently no bonus points to upgrade (even when they did offer bonus points for upgrading, it was minimal).

The Gold can only be upgraded to Plat (which your rightly do not want to do) or downgrade to the Green, whose AF was raised to $150.

From my perspective its 25k+30k

For JetBlue tickets under $100, does the original price for flight need to be under $100, or just the portion billed to cc should be under $100?
Just the portion billed.

not sure why they think an exam in September/October will be possible.

Really hope they consider either giving an online exam or granting diploma privileges in lieu of an exam if they have to cancel the fall administration.
I think I would be a bit nervous about taking an online exam. How can we be sure the prep courses could adequately prepare us for a format of test they have never seen before?

do they have a specific date yet? i hope not yeshiva week...
Not that I have heard of, but the spring semester always starts the Tuesday after MLK day, and J-Term is the week prior. So I would assume they would make it early in January to accommodate for all 2Ls to be there. I believe yeshiva week is later in January.

Anybody have any idea what they’re going to do with the July bar exam?
They have assembled a task force of the most capable individuals known to mankind to deal with this.   ::)
