Tech Talk / Which case is the best for Iphone 5 protecting it completely
« on: August 05, 2013, 04:57:06 PM »
I hope that I am in the right place by posting this here. I'm finally joining the 21st century and getting a smartphone. Can someone tell me which case is the best to protect the iphone 5 against breakage and waterspills. Is the Otterbox armor better than the lifeproof? I am so confused!
Also, where is the best place to buy the case at a discount?

General Discussion / fundraising ideas for shul
« on: January 20, 2013, 01:31:34 PM »
I have just been given the job as fundraising coordinator at my shul and would love to tap some of you for ideas. I would also like some input on getting a card reader so that we can take credit cards at functions. Which one to get (square, intuit, paypal etc) and which one has the lowest rate and most reliable.
Is anyone aware of a halo card which is a credit card that the shul gets a percentage of all purchases?

Deals/Deal Requests / copy of microsoft word 2012 for mac
« on: October 04, 2012, 02:24:59 PM »
Would anyone have an extra authorization copy of Microsoft word/office 2012 for the mac. I have 2008 and was planning on getting a new mac but was told that lion is not compatible with office 2008 and that all my word or excel documents would not be able to open when I transfer all my stuff to the new computer. I am now on OSX 10.5.6 leopard.
Please PM me if you can help me out.

Credit Cards And Finance / Which cc to use to purchase an iphone
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:11:30 PM »
I finally broke down and decided to buy the Iphone. Which credit card should be used to get the best protection? Should I also get verizon insurance as well?

I'm so confused! What is the major difference between the new bonus starting today and the old one that ended today. I have been a chase customer a very long time (back from the manny hanny days - that should give away my age. Dan - you probably weren't even born yet when manufacturers hanover was bought out by chemical and chemical was bought out by chase. I just signed on to Saphire Preferred last month and will only make my $3000 spending through amazon payments Is it worth it to make myself meshuga trying to charge $5000 in 3 months for this new card. What benefit will I get on ink that I don't get on the saphire card besides private pass. I miss my perfect card where they automatically gave me my credit on the next statement. I miss my cash rewards plus cards where i got 5% on grocery, gas and drug stores. Those were turned into freedom cards. It's all too overwhelming for me to figure this out. Dan, Please PM me to help me sort this out. Lately I've been getting beat up on the forum for not understanding certain things and asking questions. I want to try to avoid that.

Credit Cards And Finance / What is YMMV?
« on: July 09, 2011, 12:07:04 PM »
I've been reading posts and YMMV keeps on popping up. I don't want to sound ignorant but I can't figure out what YMMV stands for. Can somebody please enlighten me?
Thank you.

Does anyone know if amex lets you keep the 50,000 points and $200 airline credit if you cancel within 60 days and don't pay the $450 fee? How long does it take amex to credit the 50000 points once you charge the $1000 threshold?

Does anyone know if you can still buy $200 worth of A"A gift cards and get the $200 credited back to your platinum card. When I called A"A they said gift cards do not qualify for the reimbursement. Also, if the gift cards do qualify can you buy 4 $50 gift cards in one purchase or do you have to buy them in 4 separate purchases? A"A charges a $4.95 fee for shipping each gift card when you buy them separately.

General Discussion / blockbuster free trial
« on: December 19, 2010, 10:15:29 PM »
Can you sign for the 4 week trial if you already signed and used the last 4 week trial offered? I tried to sign up again using a different email and different CC a message appeared that I already had a blockbuster online membership and did I want to reinstate it. They had no mention that I would get the 4 weeks free again.
