One thing I still miss from the old fashioned tape recorders, is continuing off where you left off.  If you were playing a  music tape, you restarted from where you stopped. With CDs and MP3s I'm constantly starting from the beginning again.

While on the topic of renting vans, are there any credit cards that offer rental insurance on vans? Most cards have language limiting upto 8 or 9 passenger vehicles. The only one I know of is if you sign up for the amex rental protection and pay 20/25 per rental.
Any thing else out there?

Goods For Sale/Trade / Re: Marriott Certs Sale
« on: August 23, 2019, 12:48:30 AM »

the reason you are buying these certificates is to save $. There is no such a thing as saving $ without risk.

I beg to differ.
People sign up for credit cards to get the sign up bonuses and get free travel.
Saving money - no risk.

Dans Deals exist mainly to guide us all to save money - and usually without risk.
When some wants to buy a Marriott cert on DDF, they are expecting a continuation of the main site - saving money without risk.

Of course when people go crazy in the game there is risk involved.

Most of those are on sale because the expiration date is close by.

As if they spoil the day after the expiration date.

Dan has already made a post all about mileage expiration.
Now there should be ddf thread about expiration dates which don't really mean anything.

Credit Cards / Re: Same day activity via Chase Ultimate Rewards for CSR?
« on: August 21, 2019, 08:03:17 PM »

Trying to book an activity in the AM for the PM on the same day on Chase Ultimate Rewards site for my CSR. Today's date doesn't list at all. Spoke to Chase UR travel / helpdesk supervisor and no help. Any DDF guru with a solution please?

Much thanks.

I had same issue in the past. I first called up the location to make sure they would be ok with changing my dates, then went ahead and booked a tour for the next day.

Washington Monument hasn't re-opened yet, and while they say August, I wouldn't trust that until they actually open. .

The website now says it's closed until sep 19/2019

Maybe even though it says it's one time use the system won't catch on and it can be used multiple times.
Have had that in the past with Staples coupons.
Just a guess

Cool thanks for the tip.
Any iPhone option?
Take a picture of the card and pull up the picture. Have used that with other store memberships and coupons

With all of these Chase closings, should I try to liquidate my Chase points or at least keep them at a minimum? Will I loose all of my points if they decide to close my accounts for no apparent reason?
