NYC law forbids overnight parking of commercial vehicles on residential streets. There's logic behind that. If a vehicle is used for business purposes (rather than just commuting to work) part of the cost of doing business would be paying for a place to park it overnight. Residents should have space on their street available to them.
So basically you're saying you can have two neighbors with the same car, both leave to work in the morning and come home and park in the evening. The one who parks his car in a parking lot at his office during the day should be able to park when he gets home but the one who uses the car for work should not be able to park. I disagree.

Maybe he's sensitive to relatives  ;)
lol

I notice you didn't touch on the third rail I dared mention.
I actually wasn't intentionally avoiding it, I just think it's basically the same as everything else. Maybe if I lived right there I would have more of an issue with it but it's basically a non-issue for me personally \_(ツ)_/

How about when a Taxi/Uber/Lyft car is parked on a residential street?
I have no problem with that. (Although Taxi is probably somewhat of a gray area.)

How about when someone works for an ambulance company and parks the ambulance overnight on the street?
Is that really a thing? The ambulance company doesn't need their ambulances at night?

It seems to me that what you're basically saying with those two examples is that if someone drives to work and back every day and just parks the car while at work only then they should be allowed to park on the street at night, but if the vehicle is used for work, not just the commute then they can't park.

Personally I think it's more about how much space is being used than about what the registration on the vehicle is.

And I say all this despite parking on my block having become utterly impossible recently and being a major major headache for me.

Once your getting this into it, at face value, as long as the lowest number is circled it is correct.
(Although perhaps technically it should be the 0 :P )
Nah, it would throw a "must be of type int, array given" error

I say the teacher was right here.
If he would've circled only the 1, or if the teacher had specified to circle the smallest number on each line, then he would've been right.

Regardless of the parking issue, my friends and I were seriously contemplating opening a car gemach where locals lend out their cars for the evening for daters to save the heavy needles expense of renting.
What's the problem you were trying to solve?

Do a significant portion of bochurim not have family or friends they can borrow from?
Are guys just too embarrassed to ask?

Regardless, it sounds like a good idea in theory but I feel like you'd probably have a hard time finding enough people willing to lend out their cars to strangers...

Maybe this discussion should be merged with the Changing the Shidduch situation thread. Maybe it's time to stop renting cars for dates.

And I get the convenience of getting a car locally (though now that Enterprise is not too far, that should definitely be an option), but is it worth it? Besides for the hogging of on-street parking by these businesses. On-street parking should be left for non-business purposes. Cars that are used for business (commercial license plates, ambulances - except in their designated stands, taxis, rental cars, etc.) should be using dedicated paid-for parking spaces.
I think these are two (mostly) unrelated issues.

About the commercial parking, I agree somewhat. If someone has one work vehicle I can fargin him street parking, even though it hurts me. As it is they're legally not allowed to park on residential streets. But parking a whole fleet on the street is just wrong.

I've seen PA and NH cars with current inspection stickers, so I don't know where you get the idea that PA doesn't use them.
PA no longer has registration stickers, I don't know about inspection.

Do you think this article presents an accurate view of the Asu?  :P
I would say that almost everything it says there is accurate, but it doesn't present an accurate view of the Asu.

(i.e. Lies by omission.)

I haven't read the article, but based on the headline I'm calling fake news.

Everything else I've seen until now is saying there's no shortage of dead trees, the shortage is in the processing of said trees.

You'd think someone would've dramatized Kids Speak and/or People Speak by now.
You mean add even more drama to those stories? I can't even imagine...

(Yes, I know what you really said :P)

I guess finding this hint is supposed to be a riddle of it's own?

So we agree the color of the jury matters? Does this mean a black defendant can't get a fair trial with a white jury?
Right, because this trial can totally be compared to and is indicative of the typical criminal trial in the US  ::)
