Credit Cards / Re: Credit Cards for Newborns

Wouldnít a AU added without SSN not count as history since itís not actually linked to the person you want it to? Itís just a card with a name. You can write Mickey Mouse on the card for all they care.

That's true but I heard if you want it to count then call and give them the social so it can link

@Dan any say on this?
I think this is an I interesting  topic you should cover

Isn't newborn a lil too early?
You still have many years to build the newborn's credit.
And don't forget that if something negatively happens to your credit it'll effect the newborn's too

I don't think that's how it works. I believe it just takes the credit age

Credit Cards / Credit Cards for Newborns

Hi,

This could be a stupid question. I don't know if this is even a thing but can I add my newborn as an authorized user to my credit cards just so that he can build history? Or Is this a stupid question?

If not for a newborn, at what age is good to add your child?

I use awardwallet

Are you comfortable with giving them all your passwords?
The reason why i ask is because points.com mostly doesnít ask for passwords

The title made me think of a service that manages your points (mainly corporate) so that they tell you what to earn and handle your travels

Which programs do you use?

The truth?

I am asking in regards to getting credit. I understand the truth

I know many people who put zero because apparently they are more likely to get approved and get a higher credit limit.

Credit Cards / Mortgage/Rent on Credit Application

Hi - when applying for a credit card they ask if you pay rent/mortgage. Is it better to put something there or leave it blank (write 0)?

What are the pros and cons?
Thanks!

Credit Cards / INCORRECT CATEGORIES ON SAPPHIRE RESERVE
« on: May 06, 2019, 04:28:15 PM »
Hi,

This happens all the time.
I swipe my card at a restaurant hoping to get 3x Points on Dining and when the charge posts, there are times that it comes up as "Groceries" and I only get 1x Points.

Now I checked the VISA SUPPLIER LOCATOR which tells you the code of the specific merchant and it shows its under the "Restaurants" Category. What is happening? Any way to dispute the category that chase applied to the charge?

Example: Prime Bistro in Lawrence,NY came up as Groceries.
According to Visa it comes out as Restaurants.

PRIME BISTRO
305 CENTRAL AVE, LAWRENCE, NY
Industry/MCC RESTAURANTS/ BARS - 5812

Credit Cards / Re: Chase Freedom Unlimited Master Thread

Chase Ink Preferred has a very nice signup bonus (currently 80k).

Was looking for no annual fee. I think opening another Freedom Card is the way to go. Anyone see anything wrong with my thinking?

However you interpret eligible, if you are getting a card, why this

You saw what I have in my wallet. What else would you suggest.?
I have a Sapphire Reserve, Freedom Unlimited, Freedom, Ink Cash Card in my wallet.

I can't get another Sapphire bonus. Freedom is not needed. What other option do I have?

Yes, if are eligible for another card you get one that earns 60k points after 5k spend, not 20k

What do you mean eligible for another card? Meaning the 5/24 rule? I should be good with the 5/24 rule however I just opened the Reserve Card a few weeks ago.
