Credit Cards / Re: Misc Credit Card Questions
« on: August 02, 2020, 11:29:46 AM »
I am renting a Ford Transit 12/15 passenger van.  Will I be covered under any CC rental coverage?  (Chase Sapphire, Amex Gold, Gold Business?)
If not are there any cards that will cover a larger van?
You can be covered under the American express premium car rental protection (the one you pay extra for)

Now lyft as well
What you'll need to do:
Stay home if you have COVID-19
If you feel sick, staying home is the best way to help contain it and protect other people.
Wear your face covering
To help slow the spread of the virus, put your face covering on before you get in the car, and wear it for the whole ride.
Keep the car — and your hands — clean
Sanitize your hands before touching anything in the car. And please don't leave trash behind.
Sit in the back seat
Out of respect for your driver, put some protective distance between yourself and the driver's seat.

Keep the car windows open
When possible, do your part to help increase air circulation in the car.

I haven't been able to find an RV rental for 8, in the North East (E.g. for a trip to NH)

Cruise America's site indicates 7 people is the maximum for any rental. Are they flexible about that with kids? (Those are ~$180-$200/day plus $0.35/mile, depending on pick-up location in CT, MA)

I'd prefer to rent from a company than a private owner because the vehicles are relatively new, offer roadside assistance/support, they are probably more reliable cleaning their vehicles (re COVID).

I checked out outdoorsy and the private owners with well priced newer vehicles (that sleep eight) and had relatively good reviews are mostly booked up through the summer already.

Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.
I've done a trip in one with more than 7, but if you are worried, just don't have all 8 people at the pick up

You may get a good rate on the rental itself, but one-way fees could be quite expensive.
I hope to take advantage of a cruise America one way special, or even better, a Phoenix deal.

Not at all. Though it does depend what region you're thinking of, and from where to where.

I don't know though if/how the pandemic affects this.I did it and am hoping to do it again.
thanks that's great to hear, i was worried that they don't do it during peak season

I'm pretty flexible, so I'll wait to see what's available during my dates, but hopefully ill be able to get to a few national parks etc.

is it wishful thinking to try to get a good rate for a one-way rental during august? Does anyone have experience?

Next week for Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Then suspended again for two weeks.

Only using the built-in settings, is there an app for it?

To start, what device are you trying to get it to work on?
LG v30 (from sprint)
Wi-Fi calling is not necessarily supported on every phone carrier.
Right, it seems like that is the problem
Also in general , if you want to make a call over Wi-Fi you can use Google voice to accomplish the same thing.
That is a good idea, thanks

I have an (unlocked) sprint phone being used on t-mobile, but wifi calling isn't working. it seems to be a general problem with non-t-mobile phones, does anyone have experience dealing with it?

Just curious what's going on with it during this pandemic.

I entered my bank info for DD, but I got this now... ::)
me too, and after all the effort it took to put in my bank info ::)

realistically, my opinion, for whatever its worth, is that it is HIGHLY unlikely for a camp to get ready on such short notice and also have the ability to get trips and programs planned etc...
I don't know about cgi Montreal, but I am involved in a different camp and we are operating under the assumption that camp will open, so planning for most programs are well underway. Obviously trips are more complicated and we aren't putting deposits on anything, but we hope to start that as soon as we have more info.
