Goods For Sale/Trade / Re: Used Cars Master Thread

Looks too generic, and I'm generally suspicious of any seller that doesn't post a picture of the odometer with the stated mileage....
right, so assuming I see the car and the mileage, etc is real, is there anything else to worry about? stolen? very hidden flaws?

What's an example URL of a listing that looks underpriced.

Before they implemented the 5$ post thingy, the listings that looked like they were screenshots of pictures all looked fishy to me.

General Discussion / Re: Craigslist

cross-posting because this seems like a good place
I'm looking to buy a used car, and looking through craigslist there are a lot of cars that seem very legit but are significantly underpriced, is there a way of knowing when it's too good to be true and when it's just a guy looking to sell his car?
obviously, I'd only pay in person once I've seen the car (probably with a friend who knows about cars), but was what other things should I look out for, assuming it all checks out?

How do you know that you have the exact shade?
That's why I'm using find format from cell, shouldn't it match it exactly?

I'm trying to do a find and replace, but I only want to find the word in a specific format (color and shading) but when i try find format from cell it comes back with no results. Any ideas why this is?
TIA

Time to retire that Honeywell code folks, here is a shiny new code for everyone. Let me know what you think.

XZNNABS
it's coming up for me with 0 miles included on a one-way rental for a luxury (cheapest option), any way to change that?

Second Note, signing up to volunteer for one of those groups is fairly easy to do. Not meaning to do this to get deals, spend a day or two a month at a charity and you earn it.
are any of these organizations easy to sign up for as a volunteer just to get an id number or something (like usaa)?

My friend just got blacklisted for doing this.
That's what I was wondering, thanks a lot

yes, u always have to check out
Right, but I know (from experience) that with hertz its easier to get away with sketchy codes by an airport because those checkout people usually just confirm your ID. So I was wondering if it's the same at national/enterprise?

In case you're not aware, people get banned from all 3 companies, National, Enterprise and Alamo for trying to rent with Honywell and other codes without documentation to prove.
Is this also an issue in airport locations where you can just pull off the lot?

I am going to need a one-way rental in the summer for about three weeks, what codes would work best? I am under 25 and would like to be able to add a second driver. I found a good price for enterprise with XZ08K41, but I am worried about getting carded.
TIA
