Don't want to ruin your holiday, but I hope you checked the salad.
I had a similar experience.  I was told the Chef knows exactly all the laws of kashrut and so on.
After he checked the lettuce.  I decided to have a look.  Lo and behold, two creatures were crawling in it.

Hopefully 'just' the bread was baked in the oven.  In St. Moritz, Switzerland, everyone bought their bread
in the bakery.  Everyone knew it was kosher.  Until one day, last year, someone discovered that they were
baking Pizza in that oven too.

Day trippers. There are only a few hotels on the island and not remotely enough to make it feel busy.

In summer Capri is a nightmare.  It's so packed with tourists, that you can hardly move.  August is a no, as the place is swamped with italians on Holiday.

Possible to get stamped and back in on a 4:45 stopover (8:10-12:55)?
Possibly to do anything outside the airport?

Take the train from the airport to the main train station in Zürich - 20 min ride
walk down the Bahnhofstrasse, main street in Zürich, till the lake and back to the station

Landing in zhr at 8am on a weekday. Any way to make a shachris minyan with taking trains?

044 461 07 53  You should ask Mr. Kernberg.  He knows the times of minyan in Switzerland.

Cologne = Köln    During the second Beis Hamikdash, the jews were already living in Cologne.  There's a tradition that they did not want to depart from their Homeland.
Check the mikva, I think it's one of the oldest in Europe.  Haven't been there, but it's worth a visit, if you're interested in history.
