Instead maybe reflect on all the points you gained.  AMEX was good to us over the years.

Incidentally Delta once clawed back 155,000 miles from my skymiles account due to repeated MR conversion bonuses.  The account balance today is still -155,000 miles  8)   (I have another account) I guess that has also made me prone to using up points and miles as quickly as possible when I sense trouble.

At the risk of putting my foot in my mouth, I think this is chicken little...

Could be just a fluke, I say better safe than sorry.

I remember the early reports that AMEX started enforcing bonus rules were dismissed as being flukes as well...

which theory u referring to?

Biz and personal versions of the same product don't impact either's bonus eligibility (the couple posts above)

That makes more sense.  Anyone who slipped through the cracks in last few months might want to think about redeeming their points before AMEX goes retroactive on ya.

I'm about to prove that theory myself as I await a Biz Plat bonus after having many recent personal Plat bonuses (but no Biz Plat/Gold/Green cards in last 12 months).  Honestly I don't know what to expect as I'm not sure AMEX even has these rules ironed out completely.

Now its the 92 day bonus clawback rule?  Wow, where do they come up with this stuff - is it possible the system saw the other Plat bonus and thought you only deserved one, but the account closure was just their way of explaining it I wonder.

Bump, anyone try this? Anyone do any PayPal?

Any other recommendations for a way to cash out "online shopping"?

People on another forum have confirmed getting 5% for Amazon Payments and Paypal yes.

The card is meant to be added to your Paypal account.
Load it into my account --> transfer it into my bank account.
I would keep buying more cards. 8 a month as it will be the same price as vanilla
Do you think PayPal will charge me anything else beyond the initial 3.95 load fee.

Sorry if I wasn't clean

Ah I gotcha - yes they supposedly charge a $4.95/month fee for each card.  You could close the card after draining it and repeat with another, but not sure how long they would let you keep doing that.

I was asking about PayPal because they are easier to find.
Yes I am very familiar with Vanilla. Thank you.

So Paypal is a prepaid.  Vanilla is a reload for prepaids (like Paypal and Bluebird).  You might be able to load a Paypal at the register with CC when you first buy.  What was your strategy going to be after that to load it (if not using Vanillas)?

71
Anybody have an experience with the PayPal load cards found at cvs? Besides for the 3.95 are there any additional fees? Don't get to excited the max is $500 a day and 4k a month I believe.

If you are using Vanillas the load limits are higher (definitely > $500 day).  Shutdown will come swiftly on this one with any large activity (note it is supposedly run by Netspend).

My wife opened a new PRG card after she had closed prior MR cards (including a PRG) several weeks before, and as a result the new PRG card got a new MR account with no prior history.  She still got no bonus.  So my bet is the new bonus algorithm is intelligent enough to look beyond just that MR account.

Thank you for clearing that up . Any idea on my post # 420 regarding my chances for another
2 Citi cards ?

I have no experience there.   I've heard you usually have to wait 18+ months to do a new round of Citi AA cards.

That particular link apparently got trampled by the SD herd, but each team had its own direct link (and promo ID) associated with a 40k bonus.  Other direct links may still work (hint, hint).
