Up In The Air / Re: Ex-TLV Routes and Flights Discussions
« on: March 04, 2021, 11:42:08 AM »
Any info on the mysterious ElAl cancellations for flights next week?

(I know of two flights that were removed from the system and cancelled with emails saying "due to Covid-19... cancelled)

(I have heard conflicting reports of it being a mistake. That they are back on. Back off. etc.)

Any updates appreciated.

So leaving Israel tonight and hoping to come back in a week by applying for an ishur tomorrow (can't apply before you leave) is a really bad idea, right?

I think Bakashos is available in digital format, I can check and let you know. I got it on tape a few years ago, when Mostly music still sold tapes. As a side note, Motti Katz composed a song "Haposayach Yad" which is not on his tape, but is a beautiful song. I heard it by a Kumzitz a while back. I would love to find out if there's a recorded version somewhere.

He is in critical condition with Coronavirus r"l. (Mordechai Daniel Ben Sarah Ita)

Can anyone help me find his album in digital format. I think it would be a zechus for people to hear his "bakashos" at this time.

UA 84 is perfectly fine on Thursday

You lose Thursday as a work day.

If apple charged more for products in stores in expensive zip codes would that be fine?

Question was shouldn't this be illegal in some way?

I mean they are selling the same items for different prices based on profiling people for what they can afford.

Why is it legal for airlines to increase the price for flights that are round-trip in the same week.

The same flights when staying a weekend are often up to half price.

After today's warning article about El Al (Link below) I am more determined to post my question (please direct me to post if it exists).

I need to start travelling from TLV to NYC (preferably EWR) fairly frequently (4-8 yearly). I am looking for economy direct flights. I don't see a good choice besides for El Al (even with all it's issues).

El Al has great schedules and lots of flights (especially to Newark).

United is usually more expensive and out of TLV flies mid-day (terrible) or 11:30pm which is not as good IMO as the 12/1am options of El Al. They also have worse return times (for example flying out of NY on Thursday afternoon/evening to arrive for Shabbos isn't possible with United).

Delta seems to have one flight per day and it's to JFK (much less convenient) and the Motzei Shabbos flight is often astronomically expensive and, like United, you can't fly from NY on Thursday for Shabbos. I also had a horrendous encounter with my last Delta flight to Israel with my family (I did get 5 $200 GCs after writing a long complaint letter but I can at least conclude that bad service can be had with Delta too).

So what real choice do I have? Purposely take a layover in Europe to fly a better airline?

Installed webchaver + filter (their filter) and computer seems to be very slow...

Does anyone know of a good basic filter to try in tandem with webchaver (K9 is supposedly not compatible).

Looking for advice.

Is it a bad idea to do an 8 hr stopover in CDG with a family of 4?

Too short to really leave and do anything I assume but too long to keep sanity. Unless there is local, convenient - entertainment/food/hotel that works with just a few hours?

Looking to go to NY last minute for around 7-8 days. Can anyone point me to a low cost award ticket? TIA

One way/Round-trip: Round-trip
Non-stop/Maximum stops/Any: Max 1 stop
From: TLV
Departure dates: within next 36 hours (i.e. 3/12)
Return dates: 3/19-20
Class: Business (at least to NYC)
Seats: 1
Alliance/Airline: Any

For someone who's not so fat and not even 6ft why you getting 16 1/2
Go for 15 1/2 slim, if you like fitted go for extra slim, and if you want really slim (or as they call it tight fitting) them go for the super slim fit.

Believe it or not my neck size is 16.5 (I would like the option to close my button) .... maybe I should get my thyroid checked or something....

Extra slim is regular/slim for me. I assume super slim might be too slim. Not sure.
