Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Re: Eilat, Israel, Master Thread
« on: December 09, 2013, 04:13:28 AM »
the dolphin reef was the best attraction for our kids in Eilat (they touched a dolphin that swam right up at feeding time http://www.dolphinreef.co.il/), and scuba diving is amazing and cheap (if u are not licensed and never did it, u should do it in eilat b/c its easy and cheap without certification). there is a place right next to le meridien that rents out banana boats/jetskis etc. very nice people.

enjoy!

Ended up using "lucky divers" for scuba which was simply amazing and only 180 NIS which I believe is a really nice price. They wanted 100 NIS to take a picture of us underwater which I later found out is less than the competition charges - I turned it down. I think I regret that.

Will try to do a full trip report soon (including my stay in Park Hyatt in Paris which is where I am posting from - I am in a junior suite and I have to say I am severly underwhelmed).

My Kallah's current cards: United Explorer, Sapphire (Chase) + Gold Business and MB Platinum (Amex)

That's it. They were gotten two months ago. Excellent credit.

Looking to get SW regular and business shortly with Chase so afraid to do anything else with Chase.

What is the best bet for an Amex or two and Barclays or whatever.

We are burning money like crazy so spending isn't too hard.

I'm not c"v trying to be sarcastic; I am really trying to understand.  The shirt is covered by a tie, and a jacket.  Both of which are more "eye catching" than a shirt.  Does a shirt really make such a difference?  What's wrong with a $20 white-on-white from the heimishe stores?

I sorta agree that the shirt doesn't matter that much at a wedding (the collar would be the most important part) since you do usually stay all suited up. However, I would still choose a non-iron ideally since creases will bounce back. In general I save a lot of money by not sending my shirts to the cleaners so I don't plan on buying many non-non-irons in the future.

Main reason for the q. is that I kind of feel weird wearing my usual weekday shirts to my wedding.

Besides for that they're the nicest, best quality non-iron shirts I've ever seen?

While we are slightly OT.

I am planning on wearing my usual CT twill shirt (I wear them weekday and Shabbos) to my wedding.

Unless anyone can suggest a shirt (up to $70 range) that would look significantly better?

For the future, as been said up thread and from telling friends seems to still be true, calling during the day time usually has success getting free shipping, night time it's harder for some reason. Glad you got it though.

I tried 2 or 3 times by day and no luck.
Please tell us you got the 5th guys name?

I did't get *her* name - but what does it help? Can you really ask to speak to a sales associate?

Tried 4 times to replicate my first call (they said shipping would be free) but no luck so far. Dunno how you got it.

Okay. Called right just now for attempt number 5 and I got it.

It's weird because they weren't even going to ask for an email address - I said "don't you want to send me a confirmation" she said "okay, I can take one." - either way I got it and $0 for shipping. :)

OK, so I just called the US # , before I placed the order, they asked me if I wanted to use any offer codes and I mentioned PETER. She advised me it's a UK offer so I would be charged in GBP and I said no problem.  I didn't want to start any problems, so I didn't ask about shipping charge, and I just checked my email order confirmation and shipping was FREE!

5 CT shirts for $31.95 each + free shipping, awesome

tried only once (on phone) so far.

"no free ship + possible fees for currency conversion"

Update: Called she said "Peter" is good for free shipping. I had to hang up though bc I realized I don't have my platinum card on me for no forex fee.

BTW does the Business Gold card have forex fee?

Is there a link to SW cards?

Trying to figure out the companion pass story.

[2 cards at 50k each (still around?) plus 10k spend - is that the gist?]
