Thanks. It seems though that it won't get me too far. Considering I have a gazillion SPG I was thinking about diversifying...

Won't chime in on the SPG vs Marriott debate, but there is a 70,000 point current offer on the latter.

I understand that SPG offers air point transfers and some other benefits that makes it a great card.

However, if I was just to look at the better card to earn hotel stays, factoring in quality, availability, quantity, and locations, is the Marriott card a good card to have, compared to SPG? Also, is 50,000 bonus points a lot for Marriott?

One way/Round trip: round trip or 2 1-ways
Non-stop/Maximum stops/Any: non-stop
From: JFK or EWR
To: Israel
Departure dates: December 4 late night
Return airports: If different from 'To' line. Delete this line for One way tickets
Return dates: December 10
Class: Coach
Seats: 1
Alliance/Airline: Any - Note: I have sufficient miles in AA, Delta, Membership Rewards, BA
This is for a yeshiva, so I am looking to use fewest/cheapest miles; comfort is not that important...

Looks like it's done.

Called mutiple times. MR was rude, even a supervisor.  Just gave me some address and told me that nobody in MR Phone or SM will award points for the latin america deal. Period.

I have done some research on that a little while back on FT. There is absolutely no way to have them reconsider this. The best you can do is wait 60 days for the consumer or 90 days for the business, and try again.

This is extremely YMMV, but some people have had success signing up other people for the card and putting in their own AA number on the application.

This has worked for some, and has not worked for others.
What about changing my other citi cards to hilton or similar cards in advance of the new app? Will that increase my chances of avoiding the  "only for new cardmembers" deal?
