Credit Cards / Re: Up to 40% bonus when transferring MR to Delta
« on: July 26, 2011, 05:51:17 PM »
So you could use the 40% to transfer 250k points to delta and then you would have a bonus 100k in membership rewards certs that you could use to transfer to any other MR partner like BA and get there 50% bonus?  BTW I found opening another delta acct to use this promo is against the TOS. You could lose all your points if you do it.

Yeah, I think it was rather lucky. I wonder how many times this happens though.  I doubt many people tried before.

I am personally pushing the limits on amazon payments. I think I have 6 accounts under my name that I recycle my money through. Note* Each has a different card and different bank.  Dont link a card to more than 1 account.  One account has had a transaction back and forth which caused a flag. But because of my amazon activity and seller account it was allowed through. Pretty Lucky.

Today I called to get my Chase Business Continental card approved since it was denied for to many apps within 6 months.  I called and they couldn't pull my score because it was frozen.  But the CSR thought it was because my business was to new to be in the system or something.  So she manually entered my info and transferred some of my CL from my personal card and approved it.  They also sent it next day for free.  Although I do have a business checking and personal checking with chase.  that may have helped.  But no credit pull :)

What if you have two delta accounts and you use one for the 50% and one for the 40% and do the account merge option on delta?

I just did this and sent $500 to one of my other emails. The charge immediately showed up on my CC even thought I never accepted it form the other email. I had originally planned to open the other account in my name using middle name instead of first name while at the airport in a different city (different IP). But I have a feeling they will still cross-reference it after the transfer and shut me down. Has anyone tried sending payments to themselves with name variations?

How do you plan on adding your credit card when your name is wrong ?  Just what ever you do, DO NOT send money in a circle between two accounts.  The transactions will be flagged for approval.

Would you have to call up CSR to find out the reference code for a amex app, prior to calling reconsideration?

Ether  buy something refundable so you can get your points and give yourself more time or ask one of your friends who owns a small business to charge your card and you will front the % and have him refund you on a diff card.  This way it wont look weird and for tax reasons he doesn't have a income from the transaction.

Buy this . Get your points and try to slowly spend your money to reach another 4500 and then return within 90days. You don't need a receipt just the credit card.  Yes, you can buy online and return in the store with just your card.

Would upgrading your card to the freedom card effect your credit score?

Easyest way is to call up and ask them for the 50k or 75k bonus and have them look it up since you lost your flyer/email.
