The miles won't go anywhere unless the entire airline goes under.
This is just about cutting union costs.
The miles won't go anywhere in quantity, but airline bankruptcy = significant capacity reduction = lower miles value

Happy Birthday Dan, many more with success and health!

I see AA didn't give you a very nice gift though...

I've had the severe misfortune of having a BB Bold for the past 2 years. Upgrade is finally here, but I'm waiting for the Galaxy Nexus and Droid 4 (looks like Dec. 8th for both). Ice Cream Sandwich looks amazing but no Global GSM is a huge minus for me, and D4 has it according to a leaked spec sheet. So gonna wait it out and see. Either way I can't wait to finally have a REAL smartphone!

If your desperate enough,  try calling them 40,000 times this month (probably more like 40 times, but this article says 40,000),2933,288635,00.html
"Sprint said the cancellations involved 1,000 to 1,200 customers who had called the company about 40,000 times a month in total."

Ok. Light years may not have been the best term. But they are behind Android in regard to the processors, screen size and open market!
And features. For example, Android has built-in turn-by-turn navigation, essentially eliminating the need for a separate GPS. Live widgets which display real-time information on your home screen is another acclaimed feature. There are several others as well. You can check out CNET's comparison.

Can you add a data package to an Orange Big talk account? I called and the lady said no but just want to double check.
Yes you can add data feature to a Big Talk plan, with a rate of 4 NIS per MB.
Source: Orange website (Hebrew)

Verizon started offering today a 300MB data plan for $20/mo. This can save a Blackberry user $120/year over their current $30/mo. plan. 300MB is beyond plenty for even a heavy BB data user.

Also, 4G customers can get 4GB for $30/mo. instead of just 2GB.

Tech Talk / Re: insurance on new verizon smartphone?

I also would recommend

There really often is a 30% off coupon - that would make the warranty an unbeatable price
From SquareTrades's website:

"Covered Issues: Both accidents (e.g., broken screen or other damage through drops AND liquid damage including full immersion) and out-of-warranty normal use failures (e.g.,hardware failures or malfunctions) are covered. We do not cover loss, theft, willful damage or damage occurring through gross misuse."

No coverage for loss makes this a bad choice for insurance. Does anyone have any other companies they recommend, or is it best to just stick with Verizon's expensive insurance?

sorry if this is the wrong section...if i have an iphone with the skype or google voice app...can i use a wifi network to call the usa for free?

how would it work exactly?

I can't testify personally but I know someone who uses an app called Whistle to make free calls from abroad to the U.S. You listen to a short ad then can talk free for 20 mins.

Tech Talk / Re: Verizon 4G/LTE Smartphones

So did 8MP just become the new standard?
Definitely. Droid Bionic, Galaxy SII, and iPhone 4S all have 8MP. So I would be shocked if Samsung didn't match those. The difference is very significant, it upgrades one's phone from being an impromptu camera to one that can really be used for everyday photography.

If this is true, 5mp camera, I will be extremely disappointed.

Up In The Air / Re: Has anyone flowen Delta Economy comfort to TLV?

Have you or anyone you know flown Delta Economy comfort to TLV??
is it any better than regular Economy? I'm desperate to fly business but i dont have the heart to spend the extra $$ and i dont have any delta or amex points to switch. thanx!

The extra legroom and recline are definitely enough that you appreciate them. Free alcohol is a nice perk as well. As mentioned, doesn't compare to snagging an exit row.
