Up In The Air / Re: Where to credit Delta miles
« on: January 08, 2014, 02:46:30 PM »
Alaska may be a better choice, as they have great partners including AA & DL (which both include priority and baggage benefits when flying them after achieving AS status), BA, Cathay, Korean, Quantas, and others. All partners accrue Alaska elite miles as well.

Many in the FF community are speculating that the DL partnership's days are numbered, as DL is aggressively expanding into AS' Seattle hub. Of course, that would probably lead to an even stronger partnership with AA, or perhaps even a merger.

Either way, Alaska miles are far more valuable than SkyPesos.

Dan, it may be helpful to recommend on the main site for people to credit their Delta flights to Alaska, I'm sure many don't realize this option exists.

My PriceLine booking shows as failed. Thankfully I double booked with ebookers, which confirmed instantly.

Just to point out, the Economy fares booked into M class (at least mine did). Qualifies for mileage upgrades, could be a good use of generally worthless skypesos. Also advantageous for medallion complimentary upgrades.
To add to this, YBM fares get free Economy comfort.

Any consensus on how the pending Priceline bookings will settle?

Trying to get to Israel before shabbos Jan 18th, can only leave JFK on thurs. Only options that I see are El Al, the BA 8am, and Turkish shown below. Do you guys think landing at 11am in TLV to go to Jerusalem is too riskily close to shabbos (shkia 4:59pm)?

New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV) - Thu, Jan 16

Turkish Airlines Inc.    New York (JFK) to Istanbul (IST) - Thu, Jan 16
Turkish Airlines Inc. 4   Dep: 12:55PM   Arr: 5:45AM   9h 50m   Airbus A330    Economy (P)

Layover in IST    Fri, Jan 17    3h 5m

Turkish Airlines Inc.    Istanbul (IST) to Tel Aviv (TLV) - Fri, Jan 17
Turkish Airlines Inc. 794   Dep: 8:50AM   Arr: 11:00AM   2h 10m   Airbus A320    Economy (P)

Would the nexus 5 work on the verizon network with ST?
(We have much better reception with Verizon).
No, only T-Mobile or AT&T. AT&T's LTE network is significantly better than their HSPA, so you should ask someone in your area who has an LTE phone on AT&T how the coverage is.

I'm sure they match it up with other information like your address
I was under the impression that this works even for non-family members.

credit a recent car rental to the account
Nifty idea. Do you or anyone know if I can credit a car rental booking that was under a different name?

What would be the best smart phone to use with straight talk on the version network? (looking to spend around $300).
I found on ebay unlocked version Galaxy S3, I called straight talk to ask if it would work and they told me that they canít know until I provide them with the serial no. anyone had any experience with this?
Thanks in advance.
Nexus 5. $350 direct from Google. Get an AT&T SIM from ST, which will give you 2.5GB LTE. Best phone on the planet at the moment IMHO, and according to many tech blogs.
