As an accountant that doesn't prepare 1040's i agree that for the first year definitely go to an accountant. I have people coming to ask me questions, I'v seen people lose thousands of $. Just now some one came over to ask questions, looked at his own self prepared returns. He had made over $3,500 in stocks, because of that he lost aprrox $8,000 for the last 3 years (= $24,000). A decent accountant would have warned him and explained him how to cut his unearned income by a few hundred $.there are many ways around this and he may be able to still amend them, depending on certain things. I personally did this

This was for k over two transactions. today was the third attempt which finally raised a red flag by the broker. The broker contacted us and was just confirming that we were indeed asking for this disbursement. The broker said that today's address and name was different from the last one and that is y they also called. We went to file a police report. we were told this needs to be filed with the FBI as this is a federal crime. I am being told by a employer that it is mandatory to have negligence/error insurance which he personally has and it covers a million per transaction. He said noone going to just write you a check. You will have to go after it. The broker just required a account number and signature on their release form. To me this sounds like very loose security. I have my suspicion that the Secretary or whom ever authorized did not follow protocol all thought i am just assuming. we are by this place for ver 20 years as they know our transactions and neither of these come even close to anything we would do.
Did you discuss with the broker? This is a serious crime. The broker might have procedures for reporting. In any event, reporting to local police might be a step to take (though it might be a waste of time). The broker is the one who called us to confirm that we are the one whom are requesting this transaction which was sent from our email. (which was hacked) nothing unusual. BH they were able to stop today's transaction after it was already picked up by fedex for overnight delivery down to Florida
