Re: Colorado Master Thread
I can't host but can offer a meal Shabbos day if they are on the east side. Pm me. Staybridge is about 1.5 miles from where I live but the Shul is about half the distance. There are plenty of people that regularly host travelers but I imagine most if not all are taken at this point as after Tisha B'av but before Elul is when we see the most travelers.

That being said IMHO what you said to Denverite was inappropriate. When Brooklyn packs up and goes to the Catskills they don't start ripping on Monticello's hospitality for having an unwelcoming feel. To Denverite's point your brother and friend's could've gotten firm yes's more than 2 days in advance. This isn't a case of them being stranded, is it? I'd bet they booked their hotel's with more advance notice. Why should Shabbos be any different?
Thanks! I will check with him.  I didn't mean to create a fight. but as someone who also lives in a very small community I know what it's like to constantly host people however when I get a last minute request (which actually just happened 2 weeks ago when someone reached out thursdsy night) my response would be more like. I am really sorry it doesn't work for us or others this week we would've lived to have you please don't hesitate to ask again.  that gives a feel of a community that is warm and welcoming.  when  the response makes assumptions about what the person did or didn't do with their plans and tells them to take a hike that doesn't give a warm welcoming feel.

why didn't the DDMS post give instructions about how to book this error fare with amex (J only?)) or chase points? to further capitalize on point value with with CSR and Amex Platinum
UR wasn't really an option. Site was down for most of the glitch.

Re: Singapore Airlines
LH charged me $300 YQ more than UA $0  >:(

I don't think you read what I wrote, these are mandatory government taxes, not YQ. how can one airline charge a government tax while another airline doesn't?

the tax either exists or it doesn't it shouldn't make a difference who is issuing the ticket

Re: Singapore Airlines
So me and DW and lap infant are planning on travelling EWR-TLV.  We have enough Singapore miles for  two one-way ticket EWR-TLV.  The other miles will be from United for the other way  Right now for Singapore miles I only see one way that will be useful since no expanded availability .  The other way will be with United miles.  What I am not sure about is how to handle lap infant. if I book two one ways with different mileage currencies I might pay hefty lap infant fees?  whats the best way to do this?
What class are you booking?

You can just have a travel agent book you a RT lap infant ticket and no have to book 2 one ways which would be more expensive

Re: Booking El Al with Qantas - master thread
all TY points transfer to Qantas or just those earned with premier card?
if your account has a premier or prestige cc linked to it then all ty points earned from cc's transfer to airlines
however ty points earned from bank accounts do not transfer to airlines
