Dan, can you pls update your article to properly reflect the facts that Google's reopening of accounts is purely whimsical by nature. Tnx!Nuff said
I don't know where you are from, but when someone is helping you, you don't say phrases like "I can't wrap my head around why he's refusing to do what I'm telling him to do."
A piece of advice for you:
No one likes to be told what to do, and how to do it. You can tell your employees what to do, but not Dan or anyone else on this forum.
This was directed at Dan and sounds to me like an attackI dont consider arguing over whether Google is honoring its commitment an attack. Was def not meant to be one. But i guess i could have worded it differently.
There's something called tone.
Dan has went above and beyond to help out everyone, so when you get worked up that he didn't post an update about 2-3 people, you're stoking people to not care about your case.
Then you complain about ddf apathy and you'll be wondering why people will start caring less all of a sudden.

Update #2, 11/17 at 8pm: Google has reactivated the suspended accounts!
I've submitted numerous requests about my shuttered accounts, yet nothing. Dan, can you pls update your article to properly reflect the facts that Google's reopening of accounts is purely whimsical by nature. Tnx!
Yes. Imagine what would happen if Dan would edit a post on DDMS every time someone thought there was a chance of hope for their personal situation.Oy, that would be horrible. Just plain horrible. I mean, who was it again who said this was akin to a Digital Death Sentence?
Besides for the fact that Dan's being completely reasonable here, there's also the idea of setting a precedent.Really? You're worried that he'll set a precedence for journalistic integrity? I'm aware of the fake-news mania, but i think you're taking this a bit too far
Sometimes we just don't understand things, especially when we're emotionally involved. Trust me. I'm personally involved in this story from a few sides, and I've spoken to many people about it.
There seem to be between 2-300 people who had their accounts shut down.
Of those, probably 80-90% are here on DDF.
Google said they would restore access to genuine accounts.
I've since spoken to 10's of people (including the reseller) whose accounts were shut down and they were all reopened. I'm yet to hear of a third report of a genuine account that wasn't reopened. Me thinks I would've heard if there was.
So to answer your question, I get my numbers from personal interaction with the people involved.
Seriously?
For argument's sake lets say you're assumptions are correct, does that still not fly in the face of their publically issued statement that they will be reopening all accounts not opened for the sole purpose of phone purchases? Or did i miss the "3 persons" exclusion?
I hope I've made clearer to you why Dan may not be able/willing to edit his post and to help you in other ways. If its still not making sense to you, I don't think I'll be able to be any clearer then this. No, not really. Wonder if you would be singing the same song if our roles were reversed. Na, scratch that. I wonder not...
Updating the post note won't help anything, it's all blown over by now.Does it hurt to try?
I wouldn't attack Dan for 2 reasons. A. Out of gratefulness for all he's done for the DD community.I am, in no way, attacking Dan. I hope i didnt come across that way. I also never said he wasnt helpful (although after hesitating a bit). All im saying is that i just cant wrap my head around why he would refuse to update his article. Forget the "helping another yid" aspect. Do it for the sake of basic journalistic integrity (a domain into which Dan has forayed, willingly or not, when reporting on this story). עשה למענך אם לא למעננו... Is this that difficult to understand or am i missing something?
B. I don't feel that AP will pick up a change to the DDF post because 2 people haven't had their accounts reopened.May i ask where you're getting your numbers from? We've been told this closure has affected over 200 people yet how many reports have you read here? Maybe 10?
Although after putting myself in your shoes I probably should've been more considerate than I was when I woke up at 4am.Yups. I think most DDFers are affected by the same apathy.
Don't be aggressive. If I had to decide in this particular story if Dan is trying to be A. Helpful or B. A PITA, I would choose the prior. Don't repeatedly berate him on how he's reporting the story. That must be real easy to say for someone whose accounts have been reopened...
Just my .02¢
/End rant
Update: They reopened hundreds of people's accounts but missed 3 people's that made orders from several accounts each?Seriously?
