Has anyone tried either of the following:
stillhouse original moonshine (american corn whisky) stillhouse.com in the $25 range
or
platte valley corn whisky - (unique ceramic jug) in the $30 range.

I am thinking of gifting some to some of my co-workers for the holiday season.
(read about these bottles in a recent GQ (which I get for free thanks to DD!).

Anything in YYZ airport or lounges?
in priority pass out lounge leaving yyz to LGA on AC the lounge had chips, dannon yogurts (oud), cereal, and those nature valley hard as concrete granola bars. (as well as cans of soda, bottled water and juices)

they were renovating the lounge a few months ago when i was there last but it was fine in the temporary location.

There is so much confusion with alcohol in general.

When a list says 'not recommended' they should explain the reason why, so ppl can make a decison for themselves (ex. Sherry cask).
Imho, when they write 'not recommended' on bottles like glenlivet 18 or glenfiddich 12, 15, 18 etc, w/o reasoning when most ppl drink these, it cheapens the whole list and ppl disregard it.

I think it has to do with finishing. Glenfiddich often finishes in sherry cask thereby adding sherry flavor to the whisky. I think the kashrus agencies generally agree that when sherry is added for flavor they dont recommend it. when its added for color they are usually fine with it.

General Discussion / Re: All About Grilling
« on: May 11, 2018, 11:24:24 AM »
FYI- I started using sweet baby rays only because they dont contain mustard powder or any sesame/other nut products so its easier for allergy sensitive people. Had people for a bbq a few months ago and found out that 3 were allergic to mustard and they couldn't even eat the salad because it had dried mustard powder in the dressing.

Grilled asparagus and grilled sweet potatoes are awesome!
