Target has them for a $1 each (which is pretty much their sale price), but they are also giving a $5 gift card for every ten bottles =10 for $5. This is the lowest price I have ever seen them.

Whitewater rafting. I went back in the day.

I would drive up to Whistler and go ATVing.

That's what I told her, but she doesnt think she'll be able to handle the long flights. (even in biz class). Shes also scared of the Muslim peeps over there (I sort of am too). Specifically, the fact that their laws ban the open practice of any other religion. She googled it and used her imagination. Not sure what the deal is, but I decided not worth booking if we wouldnt both be totally excited. Either way, after sending her ur Kauai trip reports she was sold. Thanks again!!!

Thanks so much Dan! Ya, I got really lucky with that flight. I decided to check Hawaii flights after my wife nixed the Maldives itinerary I had on hold. :)

Quick question:

I have been trying to read up on the stopover rules for a domestic UA award, but I'm a bit lost. I would really appreciate it if I could get some feedback on the below itinerary that I just put on hold and wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing s/t up.

12/31: EWR-HNL (40k business)
12/31: HNL- LIH  (5k)
01/06: LIH-OGG  (free?)

01/10: OGG-HNL (5k)
01/10: HNL-ORD- LGA (40k business)

The agent told me that she had to split the reservation into 2 parts (idk why). The reservation is for 2 in business and came out to 90k pp in Business. Is there any way to book this trip w/o paying for the interisland stops?

Up In The Air / Re: Book Singapore Air with United Milies (Glitch)

Please help me out as I have never booked a trip like this before.
I put on hold:

1/16- JFK to SIN/ SIN to MLE (on Singapore Airlines)
1/22- MLE to SIN/ SIN to LHR (on Singapore Airlines)
1/28- LHR to EWR (on United)
all in business for the 120k pp.

I am doing the London stopover for my wife.

Is there any way around the fees for the London leg. My taxes came out to $600 or so for the trip and I am assuming its from that leg ??? Am I doing something wrong?

Credit Cards / Re: LIMITED TIME! 50k MR Points for Amex Gold Business
« on: October 20, 2010, 10:59:40 PM »
Hey all,

Just an fyi: I signed up for the 60k promotion a couple weeks ago and called today for a random question about the online amex site. After i put my cc# in, the agent who I was transfered to told me he was from accounting and he had to ask me some questions about my "business" before he could transfer me to the online department. He asked me what the business was and how much I made...The guy told me they would have called me if I hadn't called, but I'm not so sure about that. It turned out okay but just a heads up to everyone who signed up for the card with their "business."

Won't they be surprised that a 25 year old has a senior ticket.

Well if a 25 yr old would do this (they should not), they could always say that they bought it online and they clicked the wrong discount. That they meant to click student adavntage or AAA or wtvr other discount they have.

I have it. I got it for 3 yrs for $40. It's totally worth it if you use Amtrak or MARC trains. 15% off. The 3 day in advance policy is quite annoying though.

Btw the 'senior' discount will work even within 3 days...

In December I got a platinum and canceled w/in 30 days and got the full refund.

I had 2 lounge experiences: During the 30 days that my card was still active I got denied entry into the united rcc in chicago. They have a sign that they don't take it anymore. After I had canceled it, I got in to the China Airlines lounge with my wife (i was flying cathay pacific in the same terminal). They just swiped it and wrote down something and let me in.
