Up In The Air / Re: Airline Compensation Master Thread
« on: January 16, 2014, 11:38:57 PM »
When I returned from Israel with US airways once I arrived home I realized that 2 of my suitcases were damaged, 1 is a total loss. I filled a claim through amex, but they need to see something from the airline. In addition to that I also had an insurance policy, but they may also want to see something from the airline. Any ideas?

for a recent LGA-YYZ-LGA trip with our infants, we added them over the phone with aa for free to Toronto. We still had to allow extra time at the airport to get them properly ticketed. As I recall for the return trip, AA collected approximately $15-$20 in taxes per child.
USA - Canada maybe different. My experience is within the US.

It's around $17 in taxes. No one can figure out how to price it on the phone. It will take minimum a half hour. And them they still may not do it

IME and I've done this many times  AA never asked for $$$ nor has it taken a half hour.

Can there be any issues with not doing it over the phone?
Yes, if you're running late at the airport. Why not call AA and ad the infant?

Ok I need some opinions. I have an AA award flight for a total of 30k from: CDG-JFK in coach and then months later JFK-LIH also in coach.

Now I will be traveling with an infant and the aircraft that I will be on doesnt seem to have a bassinet option. So if flying with an infant is it worth it to spend the extra 30k for another seat to strap in a car-seat??
I would pay 30k AA to free my lap for 8 + 11 hours any day.

Should be able to upgrade it with a dia cert.
The timeshare people said that you can't upgrade. Is it possible that they code the rooms as non upgradeable?

Is this only targeted?
I don't think so. I just called and it seemed like anyone can get it, but they rejected me because I'm from CT.
I just called again they requested an invitation number, without that they said that they only offer me this deal at the last quarter of 2014. This time I lived in NY. ;)

Reminder to all to remove their baggage tags at the baggage carousel. This morning i skipped the connecting leg to YYZ, (the flight was cancelled anyway) i did not and at the airport exit a us airways lady was very rude and ran after us clawing at our luggage to grab our luggage tags. She threatened to call an officer if we did not cooperate. I did not get her name but she was obnoxious and outright disgusting to us.

Why do they even need these tags?

Rings were worn by Jewish men in tanach and the Talmud.

Though not as a sign of ownership by their wives like it is by today's "men"...
+1 That's the issue. Rings the yemenite men wore in Yemen were for beauty, not ownership.
