I know Air Canada has different standards for their loyalty plans if you put your address in Israel vs Canada. Does United do that as well?

Next week iy"h.

If you could choose one place to eat in Jtown (that your kids could get something at also) where would you go?

Thoughts on the eating the fire baked Pita from Eretz bereishit with this teuda?

Dan- When are you going to Israel? I will be going with my 7 yr old this week, and am looking at the same places you are ( Chocolate making/Eretz Bereishit). Also, I will be based in Efrat, so it is closer to me, but am hopefully going to do bread making at Pat Bamelach. heard amazing things about it.

As does sprint and Verizon, looks like op is looking for a prepaid Canadian carrier

I know Rogers and Bell have a Roam Like Home for like $6-$7 a day and allows you to use your phone as if you were in Canada

Per the terms you can only have one Sapphire product open and to get another sign upbonus, it has to be 48 months from your last bonus.  I would try calling back and see if you can reopen the card. Donít mention anything about an upgrade.

I did. They said that since I transferred the credit to another card, they cant re-open. I need to wait till it is reported as closed and then try to get the Reserve. While I would like another sign up bonus on the Reserve, I want the card even if I dont get one.

I had the Sapphire Reserve, and because I was not going to be doing any travelling, I downgraded to the Preferred. I now want to book some travel and tried to apply for the Reserve. they told me that I can't have to of the same product at the same time and that I needed to cancel the Preferred and then call back and get the Reserve, which I did. I cancelled the Preferred. However, when I called back to open up the Reserve the new rep told me that since I had gotten the sign up bonus back in December 2015, I could not open up the Reserve. I said what about opening it up with no sign-up bonus? They said the system wont let them do that. I asked to speak to a manager who told me I should have just upgraded the Preferred into the Reserve. I explained that the rep told me to cancel and now they can't reopen the Preferred (in order for me to upgrade it).

Does anyone have ideas on how I can get the Reserve? I want to book tickets and get the 1.5 Cents per mile value.

Credit Cards / Re: Misc Credit Card Questions

There's a Visa exchange rate that should be the same across all Visa cards.

And for MasterCard:

On Citi cards, I have seen that the exchange rate in effect when it posts is the one that they use. So you may see an authorization when you make a purchase in the amount of the transaction based on the exchange rate in effect at that moment, but the final posted charge could be more or less, subject to subsequent fluctuations.

Now you can use the links I posted to compare some sample dates and see if one is consistently better than the other.

ETA: I understand that your question only involves transactions that are charged in a foreign currency. I just want to point out that some US credit cards have a different foreign exchange fee for transactions charged in a foreign currency than for transactions charged in US dollars.

Thank you very much for the detailed response!

looking to book direct flights from YYZ to MIA or FLL. However, on the United website, direct flights on Air Canada are not showing up as a mileage option. What other points program can I use to book these flights?
