Up In The Air / EAA AirVenture - Oshkosh, WI

Largest aviation gathering on the planet...

Has anyone been there? Any recommendations?

I’m on Delta 598 from SDQ to JFK, the flight attendant just announced the above. They’re trying to remove someone from the plane, apparently it’s taking some time and obviously there are a bunch of people filming with their cellphones.

Is that even an FAA rule?

Up In The Air / Hertz: Returned car without the key...
« on: June 20, 2017, 02:47:20 PM »
So... about two weeks ago I was rushing for a flight and long story short my friend returned a car to Hertz with the key on me on the plane... So they charged 250$ but said that if the key will be returned they'll refund it.

I shipped it back and it got there a few days ago but I didn't receive anything.

After trying to call the location several times without anyone picking up I called hertz customer service and they said that if I didn't return the key with the car I'm supposed to get charged and shipping it back won't help for anything. I told her what the agent there told my friend but she said that since there's nothing written she can't do anything for me.

Anyone ever had a similar experience? what can I do?

I was just thinking that Barclay's A+ actually gives back 2.1% per dollar spent and can be used on ANY airline and more...

Credit Cards And Finance / HELP: Chase Hyatt bonus
« on: May 14, 2017, 02:05:09 AM »

Last year I signed up for the chase Hyatt, the card didn't come for a while and I did not follow up, after about 2-3 months I called them up and asked him what was the story and they said it was shipped so apparently lost in the mail. While speaking to them, I asked what will be with the sign-up bonus and after a little back and forth the representative said that I will be able to get it after spending 1000$ in the first 3 months from when the new card will be issued.

Recently I wanted to check if the nights were there, it wasn't. I called chase, the representative said that they only saw a note that my card was issued 3 months later and that she couldn't issue the nights' certificates so she will escalate it to some other service who would answer by mail. I just received a letter saying that ignoring my story and just saying that since I didn't spend the 1000$ within the first 3 months I wasn't eligible.

Any way to get them to honor their word?!

On The Road / InterRent Master thread
« on: April 28, 2016, 12:02:35 AM »

Europcar has opened a new sub company called InterRent which is basically the same cars and locations as EuRopcar but cheaper prices and terms. they're all over Europe as well as some French overseas regions and some middle east and African countries.

I tried them on my trip to the canary islands in Spain and it was a great experience. not con might be that depending on the location they might have limited car classes available.

Underage drivers: this is especially great since they only charge 5 Euro a day for underage fee!
