Credit Cards / Re: IHG Credit Card Master Thread
« on: November 11, 2018, 10:32:13 AM »
I've had this card for many years. I always keep it bc of the anni night. Now with the changes- are those only to new applicants or old as well? Meaning, does this mean the anni night I have no longer works in ALL hotels? I don't have time to go through the thread because I am travelling.. thanks for your understanding.

And is it worth keeping the card still?

BIG favor right here...
My family and I are flying in to NY next week and the place we were suppose to be by just cancelled on us. I have 5 kids.
Anyone have a basement or something we can stay for a several days? IN BROOKLYN, closest to Ave L and 10th the better, so that we can walk in for meal son shabbos.. We'll barely be in the apartment. It's just for leaving our luggages there and sleeping. The rest of the days we'll be by family or touring the state..
Please respond ASAP. Also if you know of any gemach or chesed lists I can ask.. THANKS!!

1) I just got an offer to upgrade green biz card to plat. Spend $10k in 5 months for 50k MR - I am assuming it's a good offer, correct?

2)I just purchased airline tickets for $7k last week on priceline. Has anyone ever tried changing the credit card so that it's now charged onto the plat card instead of the sapphire pref card I used? I am assuming there's no way. Just wanted to hear from ya'll..

3) Lady on the phone said I can utilize the $200 credit for 2018 and 2019 -- if I cancel plane tickets, will it be clawed back? Is it the same instructions for receiving credit on the Ritz Carlton card? Or there's another way to go about it?

Seems like a new batch sign in yesterday with an upgrade offer 50k for $10k in 5 months (1-1-18) seems like they are watching so no double dipping on the $200 bonus
I just got this phone call offer. Then came here to do some research on updated information. Why did this thread dry up? Biz Plat not good anymore?
Any updates with whether to upgrade? And what is this you saying about double dipping? They told me on the phone I would be able to get $200 credit for 2018 and 2019...

Did it show the processing fee on the checkout page?
That was my problem with the situation. It didn't say anything about processing fee -- at least one I didn't notice. Could be it was there. But the receipt I got in email says it.

The total of both charges is more than the price quoted on the final check out page?
Looking at the receipt, I noticed it says Processing Fee is $15 per ticket (7 tickets.)
Mystery solved. I just didn't know they had processing fees.

I mean if the fee was on the checkout page what's the issue?

In any event, Priceline usually charges when the origin is out of the US, which it was
There was no mention of the fee on the check out page. That's my surprise.

Priceline charges for trips beginning outside the US or RT on 2 different airlines. Do either of these apply? $105 still seems high. Was it a name your own price situation?
Flying from TLV to NYC.
There were two different airlines because of the stop overs - which they generated for me...
No name your own price situation. Just simple : Inserted multi destination, and dates, plus traveling with 6 other people. They did not mention anywhere they'd be charging me (unless in the fine print which I didn't read but that would be rude to do that..)

I booked 7 tickets and noticed in addition to the ticket prices, they added a $105 charge for using
Does that make sense? I didn't know they charged for booking online. Do they or is this a mistake?

The million dollar question: Can you modify a grandfathered account and retain grandfathered status. Please let us know if you try.
I won't try because I have others on my account so I don't wanna risk it on their behalf. Looking for someone who has done it :)

I have one spot available but I don't know how it works.
It is grandfathered, which means nobody can see anyone else's ordered items... but since then, one person backed out and now there's an open spot. What happens if I add someone now?

Anyone going from Brooklyn to Queens who can bring a shaitel?
please reply. thanks.
