This definitely stings a bit, but to clarify, they're still 8 wins away from an actually meaningful trophy.

What the heck is going on with the Mets ....

Not sure. I stopped following hours ago.

Great game.
Caps really know how to tease their fans.

Well, if they do lose, it will now be devastating fashion. But honestly, from watching these past few games, I'm not so sure.
Still holding out hopes on the Nats...

Another good game. Series tied up 2-2 Caps/Pens.

As a Ranger fan I don't like either, but for the sake of the "Ovechkin can't make it to the conf finals" narrative, I'm still pulling for Pitt. (The only narrative I enjoy more, obviously, is the "Bryce can't make it to the NLCS"one).

Of course we're watching.
Every series is exciting in the 2nd round, it's probably the best matchups it could've been.

Is there any way for the Caps and Pens to both lose or does one have to emerge?

Mets over Jays in 6.
The two CY winners meet in Game 1, Sanchez vs. Thor.

Maybe I was just early  :D :D :D

The way Sports Authority did it was to start slow and slowly up the discounts as the ending date neared, and as the inventory emptied.

Got a new SPG Biz with my wife's name as the business. So I told her from now on, only use the card that has her name on it twice (once for the user name and once for the business).

6 yo son: Why does it say Mommy's name twice?
Me: Because we love her
Wife: Like when it says Moshe Moshe.
6 yo son: That's what it said on Moshe's credit card?

68-31 2.73 ERA in 4.5 years with the Cubs, plus 5-3 3.08 with 66 strikeouts in 53 innings in the playoffs. Even though YU is better, younger and has more pitches which should help him have a longer career, Arrieta is still really good.
The Phillies won 4 less games than the Mets last year, but they have an improving young team, plus added Santana and Arrieta, they also have tons of $ to spend mid season to add to team if they're close. I know the Mets had injuries last year, but they always do.

Again, nice to lump all of his numbers together, but going 22-6 with a 1.77 ERA might skew the overall numbers a bit. (And I assume we don't need a discussion about a W-L record pitching for a team that has won 300 games in the last 3 years).
As for the Phils, you're not way off, but neither Santana nor Arietta (as argued above) is a blue-chip superstar, and the Mets had a few of those on the DL for most of last year. If it happens again, maybe you're right; otherwise, I'll take the Mets over the Phils pretty comfortably.

Arietta has been in the league for 9 years. He had one very good season and one absurdly good season, and otherwise has been average to above average. He's not getting long-term money but he's getting $30 million next year entering age 32.

Maybe I'm just angry at you because you left out an NL East team...

Jake Arrieta to Philadelphia: Good news because Brewers, Cardinals and Nationals didn't sign him. Also it makes Philly a division contender (they also signed Carlos Santana), Washington can't coast until the playoffs anymore.
