Oh how I wish I will witness one of these.

I remember very clearly watching as a 9 year old with my dad and brother at my uncle's house, and within seconds of the final whistle, my uncle yells, "now it'll be 54 years until the next one." Well, next year we're officially half way there.

You never know. I got a couple of cheap cutting knives for free a few years back and they had just been sitting in a box when all of a sudden we were forced to make pesach with limited access to buying new utensils....

If you have a room temperature bottle (and esp can) that you want to get cold fast, wrap a wet paper towel around it and put it in the freezer. It'll be ice cold pretty quickly.

as per ccc it is , if i would be able to see the coupon

I guess targetted?

I have been searching for the best portable DVD player for a few weeks and this one seems very good.
It is now on sale with $10 coupon for $35.99. I am a noobie in Amazon deals but I believe this is the lowest price ever.
I also believe this is correctly formatted link:

Just Shmooze / Re: Is everyone really a racist?
« on: June 08, 2020, 01:14:22 PM »
I am a professional and the short answer is yes. No, not everyone is necessarily a racist, but yes, humans are hard-wired to create in-groups and out-groups, and to favor those in their group. What many people are able to do is to realize this pattern, and put effort into including the "outsiders" into their group. The problem is that leads to the creation of other, albeit different groups. So for example, even the most pro-love and pro-peace groups still "exclude" those that disagree and turn them into the "outside" group.

The truth is whether or not one realizes it, these biases exist naturally (if not based on religion/race/gender, then also a result of childhood experiences, etc), and the best thing a person can do is to be aware of these biases.

Now my opinion no longer science: If the right would stop saying "We're not racist" and the left would stop saying "yes you are" and instead, both sides said "you are racist, but that's okay, and let's become aware of implicit biases," we may actually get somewhere as a society.

I'm a giants fan and I think he's not. I also think we've had this discussion before.
Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, his incredible character and durability and two unforgettable runs.
But take away those two wins and he's probably not even close to HOF so 2 games shouldn't bring him from not even close to in IMHO.

When my uncle died in 1995, another uncle (one of the aveilim) was telling a group of minachamim how the niftar hated songs that didn't fit the words, and loved songs that did fit. The example he gave of a song the niftar had hated was Al Tis'yaesh, by MBD, a very dramatic Chazal turned into a fast paced rock song. My uncle didn't realize that MBD was sitting 3 feet away from him paying a shiva call to my father. He apologized to MBD, who laughed and said he didn't need to apologize and wanted to hear what he had to say.
