Report back if you get both bonuses.
Both bonuses cleared yesterday.

See below. Exactly. My point was that you should keep it in mind as it's not always worth it to transfer. In this case it appears it would be. If you have UR, those transfer at a 1:1 ratio which would save you the extra 6.5k points. Just things to keep in mind when checking rates.

Thanks.  I really appriciate the help.

Not sure where you're getting 1300, you'd be losing 6.5k MR per ticket making the cost per ticket an effective 32.5k MR which gives you a value of around 1.8 cents per MR.

Like I said, my math isn't so good  :P.  Thanks.

Keep in mind, MR transfers to avios at a rate of 250:200 so you are taking a 250 point loss per thousand...

So I'm not great with this type of math.  How do I decide if the loss of points is still worth it?  Round trip would cost 26K Avios so I'd be losing 1300 membership rewards points per ticket with the transfer.  What are those 1300 points worth and am I better off using the membersip rewards points to buy the $600 tickets? (I don't currently have the platinum card but may get it anyway soon)

check the YQ before you transfer to BA

Pretty sure Aer Lingus doesn't charge YQ.

Looking to book tickets from Washington, DC to London using Amex membership rewards.  Dates are October 23-29.  Found BA for $594 looking to to see if transfering points is a better option.  I THINK if I transfer to Avios then I can fly Aer Lingus IAD->DUB->LHR for 26k points round trip.  Can anyone let me know if I'm figuring that right?

Will do.

I'm not sure if this is something anyone wants to try but the agent I chatted with said he thinks it might have happened because the system can take up to 72 hours to update.  If you get an offer and fill it out online and then call right after and use the same offer under a different business name maybe you'll get both.  Maybe it's worth a try for the right offer.

I got 75/5 offer in the mail and I tried signing up online but something happened and it said the system wasn't able to process.  I called up and was approved and got the card on Monday.  The business name I used on the online signup was different from what I used over the phone.  Today I received a new card with the business name I used on the online form.  Are these separate accounts? Will I get the 75k on both of them (with spending 5k on both of course)?  Has anyone ever had this happen?  Should I call and ask?  Sorry for all the questions.

So I checked it out and I was told by an agent that both of the cards were approved for the 75k sign up bonus!

chat on each one and ask them what the signup offer on the card is

Good idea.  Also not sure how I'm gonna hit $10k spending in 3 months.

Ok so someone tell me if I'm off on this idea:
I'm trying to hit the spending threshold on my Amex Business Gold card - can I sign up and pay $525 for 73,000 miles, then sell the miles (making a profit) and payback the credit card?
