I just flew LH F and there was a baby yelling on and off during the flight. We tried to shut her up but it wouldnt work. She also would walk up and down the aisles, not disturbing anyone directly, but it was just annoying.
What compensation can we expect?
I forgot to add it was our daughter.... but that shouldnt make a difference, correct?

If I book a Cathay pacific business class flight using Alaska miles. Is there a change fee to upgrade that flight to first class using miles?

Just Shmooze / Re: Engagement Rings $
« on: March 16, 2018, 08:17:03 AM »
I did not see a thread about this here so figured I would start a new one.

How much do people spend on average on engagement rings?
And everyone has a guy in the diamond district. Are these "guys" any cheaper than online?
What you can afford (or often cant)- and what your future "wife, daughter in law or whatever she will be" likes in that price range. You also need to decide if quality or quantity is more important.
I guarantee people on here spent from $2k or less to $25k+

Also, with a trusted person in the district you can make sure you know what you are getting- I priced it out when I went and there were significant differences even in terms of the band/ setting (talking ~$1k difference as one person insisted it had to be custom, and the other person had someone to combine the pieces).

im  not sure what ac is
united website showed 110,000 for first class
it seems like a good deal to me but what do i know
is it bad to connect in chicago?
also in my united ac i only have enough miles for one ticket
my husband has enough in his account
is there a way to use both our mileage to book this or is it better to move miles from starwood??

my other option is to buy a ticket on delta flying thru detroit

which is better???
AC is air canada- aeroplan
transfer partner of Amex.
If two seats exist you can book one ticket from your account and one from your husband or both from the same account. Its a lot of miles- but if 1. no other J or F product is available. 2. You are happy to spend 105k-110k miles- then go for it!
I really enjoyed ANA F and I connected in Chicago as well.

Another option to consider is booking ANA F to Japan and a return from there or another place in Asia in J or Y for the future- you need to book a round-trip but can be multiple classes.
Make sure you enter the segments individually to ensure you see availability- they wont show your flights if you just search NYC-TOKYO because there is no F on the connecting flight.

Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Re: Singapore Master Thread
« on: March 04, 2018, 03:28:03 PM »
Hi all,

I will be in Singapore next Shabbos with my wife and Infant.
What do people do with a baby in terms of carrying him/her to from Shul on Shabbos? Is there an Eruv? Are there any hotels that are connected to the Chabad complex? It seems that the "30 Bencoolen" hotel is right behind Chabad but it looks like you still need to go through the street to get to the Shul/restaurant.

Looking for someone with experience to chime in please.
Thanks!
does chabad have a non-Jew who can push the baby? (if your LOR says this is ok)
