FYI, ExpertFlyer is showing 2 Business Class seats on quite a number of days in August

For LAX to PPT - TN 7 : August 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 23, 25, 26, 27, 30
For PPT to LAX - TN 8 : August 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, 28, 29, 30

I haven't checked beyond that, but given how rare it is to find awards on those flights, figured people might want to grab it

Now that Marriott has confirmed that St Regis & Le Meridien BoraBora, as well St Regis & W Maldives will be bookable as Cat 7 through the end of this year (, i.e. 60,000 points per night, I have a question for those who know:

1) Conrad Rangali v St Regis v W? I have been to Rangali and loved it, but how does it compare?
2) Currently booked into Hilton Moorea (more to do on Moorea) - how do you feel about  St Regis BB v Hilton Moorea or Conrad BB?

St Regis & W Maldives confirmed bookable as Cat 7 until start of 2019

seemingly no l/d flights in premium cabins are appearing on on any route  (HKG-Europe or NA) on QF or BA searches, despite the availability of "standard" aka saver, awards to asiamiles members on any number of dates. anybody have any thoughts? systems bug over at CX? something more nefarious afoot?

Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Cook Islands Master Thread
« on: June 21, 2018, 11:04:36 AM »
Hi everybody! I am planning a trip to the Cook Islands for Summer 2019, and was curious if anyone has any experience with any hotels there, whether to focus on Rarotonga or Aitutaki (or other), etc...?

Firstly, apologies if this post comes off as a humble-brag, please trust me when I say it isn't (especially as I have met many of the people who have far higher balances than I).

With that said, I am not sure how best to deploy my Marriott Rewards points, or if to just let them be? I am currently sitting on about 1.6MM of them.

However, I already have a substantial amount of miles that would be the beneficiary of any travel package (2MM AS miles, 1.4MM AA, 350K UA along with 1.1MM UR, 1.1MM Amex MR, 1.5MM Hilton etc...). Would you buy the packages now, in advance of the July 1, and if so where would you xfer them to, if in my shoes?

As a background, I travel often, and have been gebentsht enough to enjoy JL F, SQ F, EK F, EY F etc..., and B"H have seen a large chunk of the world. All this has been done mainly solo, though now I am in a LTR with the woman I hope will become my better half in due course, so obvi I want to take her on some splendid trips  - her main travel aims being safaris in Africa, the Amalfi Coast, and the islands of the South Pacific (think New Caledonia etc...)

Up In The Air / Best miles to use for NYC->TLV->PEK
« on: December 05, 2013, 09:27:33 PM »
Hi everybody,

I have a bunch of miles in a number of programs (united, US Air, AA, MR, UR, hawaiian) , just not Skyteam. I want to fly to Israel on April 6th, and then on to Beijing on the 11th/12th/1o3th. Any suggestions on how best to use the miles to do that? For the return, I would prefer to cross the pacific if possible. Should I go OW Explorer award? USAir ? Other?
