Goods For Sale/Trade / Re: Alaska Companion Fare Code
« on: October 16, 2018, 03:35:08 PM »
Selling three (3) $99 plus tax codes for $40 each, or $100 for all three. two have exp December 2018, the third exp May 2019

Given that it seems that we can book into the OWV at current (expensive) rates and get them re-priced post-August to the lower rates, how do people feel now? More specifically, re: French Polynesia? Conrad BB vs SR B vs Hilton Moorea (I would add IC Thalasso but I can never find rooms on points)?

magnifique, and yasher koach!

works with Lyft and too

That sounds amazing, might be worth doing even if I couldn't eat the fish. I assume they just grilled it open over a regular grill?

from what I recall, yes, though I was too engrossed watching the hermit crabs on the sand fight each other lol

Do you remember what company you used for the airplane tour and how much it cost?

SmileAir i think it was. For the door-off option you sit up front in the second-pilot chair .  Edit: just looked at my transactions for last year, and I see it was SmileAir and I paid $194 (includes door-off option)

I saw that and it looks really cool although I'm not sure how that would work with kosher.

Good point. I guess even if the fish is kosher the grill etc... will not be? I guess you could always take something double-wrapped to heat up? Fwiw, the grilling part is actually small part of the day. after the drive to the dock and a trip out to the reef you spend a good time snorkeling, followed by another boat ride and then maybe thirty mins fishing. They then go to an island off of kayangel where they prep the food whilst you walk around the deserted beaches, take photos etc... Then they go to kayangel main island and you get to meet locals etc... before returning

I thoroughly recommend the Impac tour to Kayangel - it's a full-day drive/boat/snorkel/fish/grill-the-catch tour. That, and the airplane tour with door-off option. I also did the Relaxed kayak tour with fishnfins (owned by an Israeli, fwiw) which was arduous but a lot of fun

Highest high and lowest low since he started? Or maybe start a DDF miles tzedakah program to pool stray or donated miles from members in order to help those in need?

that's a good question for which I alas don't have an answer. I would imagine that post-Aug-1 you would need to call in and have the diff refunded to you (i.e. don't expect it to happen automatically)

Now that Marriott has confirmed that St Regis & Le Meridien BoraBora, as well St Regis & W Maldives will be bookable as Cat 7 through the end of this year (, i.e. 60,000 points per night, I have a question for those who know:

1) Conrad Rangali v St Regis v W? I have been to Rangali and loved it, but how does it compare?
2) Currently booked into Hilton Moorea (more to do on Moorea) - how do you feel about  St Regis BB v Hilton Moorea or Conrad BB?

St Regis & W Maldives confirmed bookable as Cat 7 until start of 2019

@Moshe123  that's good to know (and I appreciate the info!)

amen! Since when did we Ashkenasim become the worldwide arbiters of Judaism? It's pure racism, period. Don't believe me because I am not on the derech? Fine, then read this :

Chief Rabbi: 'Edah's ban on Ethiopian employees is pure racism' (source: )

Racism: it sucks everywhere, but nowhere more so than when we can't see it in ourselves
