I wish Amex would open the floodgates and remove the "Welcome bonus offer not available to applicants who have or have had this product." for their SPG cards, if only for one day. *le sigh*

How would SQ handle changes to a pre-deval *A award booking, specifically changing carrier to another *A, post-deval? Would they reprice to the post-deval prices, or would they just charge you a small change fee in USD but keep the mileage to the pre-deval amount used at time of ticketing?

yes, flying on Delta, but availability is scarce. it's amongst the lowest number of miles you can use to get to TLV from JFK. it is 40k o/w in Y, 60K o/w in J (prices quoted to me by VS agent - I have not been able to find dates to book) - not bookable online, have to call in to book, as Israel is one of the (many) countries (e.g. Spain) to not appear on their list of countries for online booking

If this has already been posted, apologies, but there is a nice sweetspot in the new deval'd charts which is North Asia to Oceania for 37.5 in J / 47.5 in F.
Go to TBU and you will be routed via Australia (probably SYD) and/or New Zealand (AKL), and you could get off the plane early and have it as ICN-SYD for 37.5K in J etc...

Credit Cards / Re: Churning W/ Giftly

I sent an email asking why order was cancelled, and this is the response I got:

"I’m sorry for any inconvenience. The gift was cancelled the charge to your credit card was voided because the purchase violated our terms of service. Giftly is a service meant for sending monetary gifts to other people.

We’re aware of the recent posts suggesting that Giftly could be used for other purposes but we do not support them.

Best,
-David"

One thing I just noticed (and I realise I may be on the slow wagon on this one) is that they have gone back to saying "This offer is also not available to applicants who have had this product within the last 12 months or any other Consumer ZYNC®, Green or Gold Card account within the last 90 day," whereas a while back they were stating 12 months for any card (not just the card you were applying for). That ought to help in churning amex cards

Up In The Air / Best miles to use for NYC->TLV->PEK
« on: December 05, 2013, 09:27:33 PM »
Hi everybody,

I have a bunch of miles in a number of programs (united, US Air, AA, MR, UR, hawaiian) , just not Skyteam. I want to fly to Israel on April 6th, and then on to Beijing on the 11th/12th/1o3th. Any suggestions on how best to use the miles to do that? For the return, I would prefer to cross the pacific if possible. Should I go OW Explorer award? USAir ? Other?

Thanks!
