Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Re: Warm with shul and food
« on: January 13, 2011, 10:40:54 AM »
I got them to change it back to 12,000 per night but I still can't get that extra night. They're booked solid. If anyone knows how to break through to them to give me the extra night I need, please tell me. If I'm not sure I'm getting it I'll have to cancel the flight, etc. BTW, did any one check out the traveladvisor approval rating? It's a dismal 75%? Some real nasty comments, and recently. Any one have a bad experience. I love this forum!

I hope I'll get the last night or I can't go. I was almost getting excited. First, is the Westin Diplomat at 3555 South Ocean Drive in Hollywood Florida? Doesn't look like they accept points for payment if that's the one. Second question. There a a number of Chabads "on the beach". Any better specifics on that? I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Mutty

Good try. No SPG properties in walking distance. Any one else with an idea? Frustration is starting to set in.

We live in Brooklyn. Don't want too far. Want warm. The only one by Miami Beach is the decrepid one. They're putting up a new one for march 2012. Is the Westin Diplomat in FLL walkable to shul? Food around? I'm guessing FLL is ft lauderdale? Is it a really nice place? Please, someone, help us out here. Only have those few days, just the two of us. Need some details. I'm a Hatzoloh Paramedic that had an accident a few weeks ago and really need to take it easy a bit. Again, need shul for shabbos, need availabilty of food, maybe even restaurant(s). Want to use my SPG miles. I'll have to find a cheap flight. Got my million gold membership from AA as per Dan (thanks again). WHatever. Thanks in advance guys

If Miami was an option - and it looked good - we heard the only SPG propertry is old and decrepid - on Collins.

Here's what we're looking for. A warm place for end of January, near enough to a shul to walk to on shabbos. Stay in a SPG property for points. And have access to some food for shabbos especially. Thought of maybe Nassau, but not successful We can leave NY 1/26 and leave back 2/1 which leaves a shabbos in between. Need the warmth, need the shul for shabbos and need the nice hotels of SPG for points, and some food of course. Are we dreaming?

Up In The Air / Re: AA million miler lifetime gold
« on: December 30, 2010, 12:03:23 AM »
OK. I got an email from AA that because I have the million lifetime miles I now reached gold status. Some questions. First, what are the great benefits? I looked at the list. Didn't seem that great. Also, does my wife get the same benefits like better checkin (I think thyat was one of them), free luggage, etc. when she's with me? Also, I remember something about using a foreign address. What was that good for. And am I out of luck because they said they're already sending me a package?
So what are all the great things, understanding that I don't travel more than once or twice a year.
I did get the 75000 extra miles for each of 4 credit cards (thank you again, Dan!) and we"re IYH going to Israel in the summer business class on ElAl. But then again, I don't suppose using mileage on another airline gives you anything for being AA Gold status?
Can anyone help me out here?

Up In The Air / Going ElAl with AA miles

First off all THANKS A MILLION DAN. I got the two cards for me and two cards for my wife - aadvantage citi cards - and will be getting the 300,000 bonus miles. I booked a trip to israel business class - 135,000 each. We are very excited. My question to the folks is, do I get all the business class benefits from elal? Like the lounge, etc? Also, if I have grandkids going on the same flight but in couch can I take them through business checkin? Is elal business free luggage? Anything else I should know?

What's a better upgrade coupon? So do you mean that before you hit 1 million you should change your address to a foreign one? After you get it you change your address back again? Another question. If I use mileage on AA to get a trip to Israel on ElAl and I have the lifetime gold, do I get benefits being the gold member or is only on AA flights?

Thanks. Okay, I finally got someone at AA that knows about it. When you hit the million miles they automatically send you a Gold package in the mail. Looking forward. Thanks again.

Thanks for the comeback. I certainly believe those on dansdeals more than aa themselves, but where on the aa site can I read about this?
