It definitely seems more and more likely that people going about their regular business are not leading causes of the virus spreading, it's people coming in contact with people they don't normally come in contact with like weddings and maybe also camp.

I hear. I wanted to keep the poll pretty simple as having 10 categories with only a few votes in each one makes it difficult to understand the results, so I tried to capture alot in 3-4 options....

But on second thought, isn't that very similar to the last option that jj added?

I'm not saying to add an option, as it does fall under JJ's option. I'm just saying that the image people have in their mind, such as @iluv2travel's description of his personal experience from earlier in the year, is not the only version of that option.

The issue is, their Covid deaths follow the standard curve

But their excess deaths don't. While the other age groups, the excess deaths and Covid deaths follow the same curve

Multiples? If you have 'em all at once, it's only one pregnancy pull.
Apparently even with one pull, it's still counts as three towards 5/24 :( ;D

I think people miss that there are those who aren't locked up, but only go out when necessary, or to places where there are little-to-no people.

Obviously the number that stands out is 25-44 excess deaths. Around 6K Covid deaths reported in that age bracket and excess deaths are around 26K, meaning 20K deaths presumably caused by other reasons - presumably suicide/overdoes and the like. Terribly devestating.

However, I find it very strange that we don't see a similar spike in under 25. Why would those types of deaths specifically target 25+ and not under 25?

Also interesting in that data is that 25-44 had 10%+ excess death rate from the beginning of the year (as did 65-74, but not 45-64 ??? )

Also, very interesting is the excess death rate by ethnicity. White non-hispanic excess death is almost neglible.

I think you're reading the data wrong. No reason to assume other deaths are all suicides, especially when COVID deaths are undercounted and your <25 show that suicides are not an issue. 25-44 is much likelier to have heart and other issues.

Correct. But IMO I wouldn't think Simchas Torah with Kiddushim were much different if SD wasn't observed which OP says they weren't.

Unless the places which had kiddushim like normal had high attendance from people who were previously infected, either during the first wave or earlier in Elul and Tishrei.

Looks like Explorist status is within reach. Global not so much. However, explorist matches to MLife gold and thats pretty valuable to me too.

Is that enough of an incentive to get the card, or wait for next opening in my 5/24?

I don't think Explorist is worth too much. No idea about MLife Gold though.
