I am in the market for a tablet. Don't want to spend more than $350ish. I tried the Kindle Fire HD and it sucks. Wish I could get the iPad 3, but its not for sale on the apple website. Anyone have any rec's?

Interesting. Perhaps you could share what it is you didn't like about the Kindle Fire HD? Telling us "it sucks" doesn't really clue us in to what you are looking for. Personally, I own and use quite a few tablets at home/work, and after spending a day with a Kindle Fire, I was impressed enough to put it on my wanted list.

+1
I own a few tablets ipad 3, galaxy 2, Asus transformer,  kindle fire hd and just ordered the nexus 10.
And Imo the kindle fire hd gives you the best value for your money. Then then the Asus transformer is a great tablet too.
I'm not impressed with the ipad 3/new ipad I think it's over rated.
The main downside of the kindle fire is that you can't sync it with your Android device there is no Google play store and no Google drive.

great point. sorry for not explaining why I didnt like it. Also, It wasnt the HD, just the regular Kindle Fire.

Screen was too small, I didnt find it easy to navigate, wouldnt download programs properly (java was one).  I have used the ipad before and I just wasnt blown away with the Kindle Fire. I would love the iPad 3 16gb wifi (dont need 3G), but you cant find it from apple.  any other suggestions in the below 400 range?

IMHO the Nexus 7 and 10 are the best bets atm.

i am looking to buy a tablet for someone but i dont know much about tablets
can someone point me to a good choice

my price range is up to $350

the person is not really that tech savvy and she wants it for basic internet use and typing/viewing simple files. maybe a daily planner/calendar or something like that

it also needs to be able to connect to a keypad (which i can buy seperately)

thanks you
