I won a 7 day Alaska cruise from my kids schoo Chinese Auction. We are going on the July 21st trip leaving from Seattle. The school is paying only for the cruise about $4500K. Between flights, baby sitters, taxes, upgrades etc...I need to spend another 5-6K! Expensive prize!
I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on the best card to use when purchasing the upgrades etc... I tried to negotiate with Kosherica but they weren't going for it. Also, wanted some recommendations on travel insurance. Do I insure the total cost or just what I'm spending? Do I include the airfare in my insurance or not?
Finally, there are tons of really cool excursions that are available at every port and was wondering if anyone has an recommendations of "can't miss" excursions (some of them are 300-400$ per person!)
Any other general tips would be appreciated or if you know someone going on the cruise I definitely would like to make some friends in our age group 30+.
