Using my Frequent Flier # w/Wife's Cit AA Applications
« on: August 26, 2011, 05:49:39 PM »
Gang:  I searched through pages and pages of forum posts but couldn't find this thread so I'll start a new topic.  I know "Devorah" has posted recently that putting your FF# in for spouse's cc apps has worked for her and Dan says others have had this work as well (YMMV).

My questions are: How many others have had this work successfully with Citi/AA and any recently?  For those who tried it and it didn't work were you notified by AA of a problem with the FF# not matching up or did you not see the miles post anywhere and called AA to inquire?  Was the remedy just claiming a mistake and providing spouse's FF# in order to get miles posted to spouse's account?

Just got wife approved for 3 Citi AA cards today instantly (2 75k and 1 30k cards) and I put in my FF# hoping it would go through.  (I'm at 710,000 lifetime AA miles and hustling to get some bonus miles in prior to the 11/30/11 deadline)

I tried it using my immediate family of 3 people.  For two of them it worked and for the 3rd the automatically put that individual's correct FF# on the account even though I applied using mine.  This was all done in June of this year.

I did it again for my husband - put in his FF# on my app. but they corrected it.  I also put in his FF# on my FIL's app and it worked for both.  So it's totally YMMV.

I just applied from my wife and used my AA FF#. I was wondering the same thing, but figured it couldn't hurt to try...

Worked!  100k into my account from wife's cards.  Within striking distance of 1 MM.

Yes but she hasn't flown on AA in a long time so could be her account is inactive/dormant to some degree. Citi put in a 30k and a 75k mile deposit from 2 cards in my account.
