AA Questions
« on: June 16, 2010, 08:43:49 AM »
someone wrote "Note, when using Oneworld chart you must use (2) Oneworld carriers besides AA.
In some instances it is less miles to use the Oneworld chart but the above restriction apply"
whats that mean? im not always gona go to three countries, does this mean one cant do nyc on aa to bcn and bcn to tlv on iberia cause its only one ow partner besides aa? does this also apply to the partner chart?

someone wrote the following "AA and BA are not allowed to be partners by law for redeeming or earning on transatlantic flights to/from the US" does this mean that i could never book an award flight on aa using ba? could you give me another example where i wouldnt be able to use that partnership?

1. When using the OneWorld chart, you need to use 2 Oneworld airlines OTHER than A"A, so Iberia and AA would not qualify for a Oneworld award.

2. When using the Partner chart you don't need to use more than 1

3. You can NOT use BA miles on AA over the Atlantic or AA miles on BA over the Atlantic. You CAN however use either of them over the Atlantic if your are going to Canada or Mexico. The rule only applies to the USA

4. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask me after 10:00 Maariv tonight :)

WHEN DOING ONE WORLD AWARD AND PARTNER MUST ONE OF THE LEGS BE ON AA?
No, the only requirement is that you use 2 Oneworld carries that aren't AA

lets say Yes, to get around it all youd need to do is have a AA flight tacked onto your tkt, so say a JFK-MAD-LHR-TLV using IB and BA  coming back IB all the way to JFK then AA  LGA to XYZ that way you have to transfer your bags by yourself and Home U go (even JFK will work as you must go thru customs and instead of rechecking the bags you simply head home

it will cost you all of $3 for the airport fees

not much choice if anything is available that is

ElAl non-stop

AA or IB to Europe and ElAl,IB or BA in from there

get to BUD and Malev from there (MA used to fly into JFK I believe they stopped doing so)

get to BRU and Brussels Air from there

RJ (Royal Jordanian to AMM then TLV)

IT CAN`T BE ONLINE? also where can i find the award chart?
Only flights that are operated by AA can be booked online. All other flights have to be booked over the phone. The above chart is for all partners airlines.

If I confirmed an AA mileage ticket on LY for tlv-jfk-lax can I change it to a tlv-lax nonstop if it opens up? without paying a change fee? It is the same destinations so it should be allowed. I got two different answers from two reps. One said since it is on different carriers a change fee will apply.

Print this out and show it to them. It doesn't say anything about changing carriers.
