How to get Avios economy rewards seats on American flight?

I will be traveling with family to Hawaii in August and have a possible dilemma using Avios points returning on American to LAX. From what I've seen, Economy reward seats rarely show up on the Avios site. This morning I noticed some seats available, but returning from OGG instead, on a different day. I understand Avios has change fees for date/time ($55) and Service Centre ($25).

Question is: Should I go this route to get my return ticket? or wait until Avios releases seats from HNL (if they do?)

In regard to your question; You should search AA.com for availability, as BA.com is notorious for not showing availability.
