Being removed as an AU
« on: May 14, 2014, 09:23:27 AM »
When someone is removed as an authorized user, does it show up as a closed account on their credit report ? is it removed altogether ?

Why not post here?

Now to your question; IME (Chase) it is not removed. In fact, it even says "open account", although in one box (seems like a field for notes) it does say "terminated".

You can dispute it off your report. Some banks will remove it entirely others will just write "ownership terminated" however they will not report any further activity either way.

I was referring to removing it to increase the average account age...
