Get files off dead Mac?
« on: June 09, 2016, 10:44:25 PM »
My son poured water on my Macbook, and long story short it won't turn on. I don't care if its dead, I have insurance, but I haven't backed up recently and I have stuff on there I need. Is there any way to get files off? Any help much appreciated.

You may be able to pull the files off the hard drive. It's not too difficult to pull it from the system (there are step by step guides on iFixit) and then use a SATA to USB dock to essentially turn your old Macintosh HD into an external drive.
