EWR-TLV baggage allowance on CO for CO Silver?

Hi all,

Just wondering... CO Silver was never really useful for EWR-TLV because you were allowed two bags anyway. But now that the cheap jerks at CO reduced the baggage allowance to one bag, do CO Silvers still get two bags? And are they 50 lbs or 70 lbs?

Heh heh... but actually, I've already seen that page on CO's site - that is where I picked the number $200 from in the first place. I am the type who is very serious about RTFM, and I know that GIYF. ;-)

The reason why I asked was because I was wondering if I misread something - first of all, I remember hearing that El Al charges the most, at $150; secondly, I remember hearing "$100" tossed around in reference to a third bag, but don't remember which airline. So I was wondering if I was making some kind of mistake, or if CO is indeed the new king of baggage fees.

Huh? Every other carrier that flies to TLV from N.A. charges the same or more for a 3rd bag.

Really? I've paid El Al varying amounts over the years, up to $150, but never more. AA also charged me $150 for a third bag, for LGA-ORD-BRU-TLV, and even so, they said they would've really only charged $100 if not for the fact that the BRU-TLV leg was on LY metal. And my wife says that when she came here from CLE for seminary (I think on DL), they charged her only $100 for a third bag.

I'd actually love that... been trying to come up with an easy way, since being that I live in Israel now, I don't really have any easy opportunities for paid BIS miles. Got any shortcuts? ;-)

US: $200
AC: $225
LY: $230 JFK/$240 LAX.

You need status first somewhere to keep playing the (quickly dying) matching game like I have.  Not too hard to do a mileage run for 19k Aegean *G though.
