I was just there, got there at 2 and had 2 wait over 3 hours for a room! I'm Platinum Elite.
Now to be fair, I got a room with 2 beds, so not sue if that's considered an upgrade or what.
Check in is at 4, and my room was only ready at 5:15, and that was with a  lot of pushing on my part.
Ouch

Has the SRBH changed their cancelation policy?
Looking to book for January 2020 and getting the following.

About this reservation:
You may cancel your reservation for no charge until February 14, 2019. Please note that we will assess a fee if you must cancel after this deadline. If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card. This fee equals your room charge plus tax for all the nights of your reservation.

The Ritz in Bal Harbor says you can cancel for no penalty until a week before....

Yes. they probably don't want people booking for 2020 under lower rates and then canceling. I got one res in before they made the change.

I Can't figure out whats going on.

Some dates in December and January 2020 have a 30 day cancellation.
Some have 7 days, and some can't be canceled without penalty a day after booking.
I booked 01/04/2020 for 5 nights and have till 7 days prior to cancel.
When I tried booking a second room for the same dates the cancellation policy is a year in advance!

Wow, this is ridiculous. Marriott should not allow this. Who can make unchanged plans for a hotel stay this far without a reasonable cancelation policy.

How many nights? Seems like more than 2 nights and/or a Saturday night is triggering the 1 day cancellation clause.

As a separate point, it’s amazing how they removed the deluxe room inventory for any availability (till a few days prior).

Hotel is not available on points for the 2 nights that I want, but if I extend my stay for 5 nights then there is availability.
Marriot told me over the phone that if I need to cut my stay short I should just tell the hotel while I am there. They will then reissue the certificate for the time that I actually spent at the hotel.
Has anyone ever done this?
I do not want to be out an extra 120k points!

sure, make the reservation and as soon as it's confirmed you can call to remove the rest of the nights, out of curiosity what are your dates?

I'm looking for the 23-24 one night, motzai shabbos.
If anyone has please pm
