St. Regis Bal Harbour
« on: December 29, 2018, 09:36:06 PM »
Since it seems just about everyone on DDF who goes to Miami ends up staying at the St. Regis, @nafnaf12 suggested a thread dedicated to this hotel.

Here’s my two cents: we stayed there twice (within a week). Both times were INCREDIBLE.

Thanks.

Do they allow a roll away bed in the deluxe Queen room? Online it says they don't so I am asking for answer based on experience.

Also
What are the odds for plat elite to get upgraded?

PS. Next suggestion is to open a thread dedicated to restaurants in Miami/Surfside.  :)

Very good odds IME, although an “upgrade” to a junior suite will actually get you into a smaller room, just usually with a better view and butler service

It’ll happen..

You can currently book it for 60K MT/SPG points, or you can buy a voucher in the Marriott Certs thread for around $300

I vote to keep this in the South Florida thread. I like the one stop shop for all info related to planning a trip to the South Florida area. If people find the info hard to find, @TimT can give some seminars on how to search.

+1 individual hotels don't normally get their own thread. And when this hotel becomes one of the new MT categories and becomes unattainable, this thread will be dead anyway.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

It would likely cost too much. Social hall started at like $20k/night iirc, that's just one small cost. And they will probably need multiple ballrooms which will cost a whole lot more.

There are a ton of people who spend 40k plus for a room
There is no other hotel like this that has a pesach program
They could easily even charge 40k for a basic room and fill up the hotel

There are always families that spend 150k by every pesach program
If u make an elite program with best of everything.

No program charges anything close to that for a standard room.

AFAIK hotel's don't charge programs for the ballroom, as long as you commit to filling an X amount of rooms and servicing an X amount of people. They charge a service charge of around $100 per person per day (at a 4-star hotel, I'm sure at the SR it would be more) for waiters etc. and the ballroom is included so to speak.

That's a fortune and most of those people go to reputable programs that have been around for years. Running a program in this hotel would probably price most people out. If the guy is stuck with 10% of rooms that don't sell then he won't make it.
