Weird that you don't need ID for that. Anyone else try this?
I've done online check in several times at different hotels (not SRBH) never was given a key without ID.

https://insiders.marriottrewards.com/thread/51276, not sure how reliable this is but it looks like a YMMV from the comments.

My experience, as a plat who checked in myself, was a bottle of kosher wine. They refused to budge on upgrade, i called from the room for 2 hours straight, and just gave up.

I have checked into several hotels using online check-in and they did not require ID. The ones I remember specifically were Hiltons.

That's a really dumb and lax policy. It works for us, but it's really not safe.

Its possible, once online checkin is initiated, the stage of not crediting elite nights is bypassed and room is assigned, meaning.......

Across a few accounts, I had reservations made for other people in different hotels (Including the SR BH) some had the Elite night and bonus points posted and some didn't.

Last time I was there I arrived at 12.15 noon, earlier than the 1.30 am early check in I requested,I had to wait around 35-40 minutes, which was not bad. Sorry if my previous post was not clear.

I was just there, got there at 2 and had 2 wait over 3 hours for a room! I'm Platinum Elite.
Now to be fair, I got a room with 2 beds, so not sue if that's considered an upgrade or what.
Check in is at 4, and my room was only ready at 5:15, and that was with a  lot of pushing on my part.
Shout out to Meshugener!
