Agree, but there is a  need for people letting them know that we are not happy, is important.

Another point, I believe the GM is from the W and transferred over in Q1 2020. They were never that nice there.
+1 also had a resent bad experience.

Try the Ritz, some have been happy as an alternative.

Anywhere in Miami is fine.  Not going with kids, requirements are just really a very nice room, in a classy hotel. If the standard rooms are big, won't need an upgrade.

Have the Bonvoy points and everyone used to rave about the SRBH so thought it was the go-to option...

But it's a lot of points to spend if it will be a sub par experience.

I was there this weekend when there was ample suite upgrade availability and I put up a big fight, to no avail.

They didn't allow for late check out, even though they could have easily accommodated.

They threw a checkout letter at room door informing of no contact check out. The letter was not in an envelope or even personally addressed.

Their service and communication overall, sucked.

The most I was given was a waived resort fee, but even that was tough.

The rooms are St Regis rooms while service is at a Residence Inn at best.
They have private residences in the hotel tower.
Not sure if its cross used, they claim it is.

+1. I just stayed there this past week. Service compares to a standard Marriott property.

what do people mean that the service went down? they are tougher at giving upgrades or just the general stay was worse?

Depends what season you go, when you go Jan-Feb when it’s full of young Heimish couples turning the place over you can’t expect them to be nice🤪
