No inquiry credit cards?
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:24:57 AM »
A rep at Chase told me that - as long as I never used the card - I have 90 days to decline my recently acquired credit card and Chase will remove the inquiry as well.

So... what happens if you get multiple cards with only one inquiry, such as Dan's 3BM? Shouldn't that mean that the other two cards leave no trace of inquiry on the credit report?

Not yet. I'm toying with it. Dan pointed out that the inquiry doesn't really make a serious impact anyway, so I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth burning my Hyatt card for a no inquiry on my CO card.

IMHO the CSR is giving you wrong information about the inquire.

I just called back and spoke to another rep who verified that the inquiry is removed, but disagreed as to the number of days - she says it's 45 days.

the real benefit wouldn't be to raise your score it would help avoid getting declined because of too many recent inquiries

Did you check your CR to see if it is actually removed? Did they also remove your TL from your CR?
